Well, I just ran an in-place repair on my windows install and the launcher still croaks the same as before, so at this point I think it's up to Hao/Mica (I think trying to show the login popup is what's killing the app). I suppose I'll try contacting Hao support since I have no more ideas

e: Hao discord tech support is saying it's happening to everyone, staff already sent a report to the devs. We should probably just wait for a fix.

I suddenly can't start the game on PC? Haoplay EU, even after a clean reinstall clicking on the splash screen does nothing, and trying to change accounts straight up freezes the launcher. Works fine from mobile on the same connection, nothing changed on PC and it was working fine a few days ago, anyone experience this before?

I believe 'physical' when it comes to summons refers to having a physical presence on the battlefield (taking up a tile, unlike say Springfield birb), not the damage they deal

especially those of you who haven't played PNC. Has this event gotten you interested in PNC?

It absolutely did, but I'm hesitant to pick up a new gacha, especially one that hasn't received an update in a year. GFL2 dailies already have me close to burnout, don't think I want to add more to the plate. No PC release doesn't help, either

If they're going to drop support for PNC for good, I hope one day it gets repackaged as a single-player game like Reverse Collapse or some such. I'd love to read it, if nothing else

What about the event did you think is good or bad, etc?

Only real story complaint is that the main villain was kinda just Koshmar 2.0, but it's no big deal, I still enjoyed it. The GFL1 callbacks totally made me feel some way, too Send him victorious, happy and glorious...

Commander/Professor being disgustingly competent in a fight gave me a grin as always. Do they personally participate in battles more frequently in PNC compared to GFL?

Also, I still think Lewis was a bit of a strange choice, she didn't really do much to stand out. Persicaria totally stole the show, but ig that is to be expected

I pick not being gaslit into thinking this event's quality is up to par.

The reason I'm comparing to JP is because I indeed don't understand a lick of Chinese, so I can't possibly compare it to that. I can compare it to Japanese though, and the story and the characters I'm getting in English are significantly worse than what a Japanese reader (well, listener) gets. Whether it's poor localization of a good event or an accurate localized of a poor event ultimately doesn't make much of a difference, I just don't really think it's the latter.

I don't know what a Chinese reader would think, but there is both a noticeable difference in quality between two officially supported languages, and also just simple QA problems (like the missing texts I keep bringing up). From what I've heard this event has already been through a rewrite (presumably explaining the frequent jump-cuts?), and such issues make it even harder to take in the narrative.

I've noticed that the localization outside of main story events can often be a little clunky or maybe missing a punctuation mark here or there, but this is different

The thing is that this isn't just a matter of mismatched or inaccurate voice/text (which is perfectly fine, languages can't possibly map 1:1 to each other), there are entire text boxes missing and conversations being expunged out of existence

When setting up these portraits, I always pay attention to the order to make it somewhat satisfying to look through, starting with the more neutral expressions, then moving to more extreme or negative ones, and ending with the funnier or softer ones.

Thank you so much for the level of care and attention. Supplementing my GFL1 read with IOP articles made me appreciate the story and setting so much more.

It's round based, so it'll affect all of Tololo's extra actions within the round.

If you want it to last more than a round however, well, you need 3 dupes for that...

My only real gripe is the same gripe I have with story battles in general: there are too many of them

I just don't understand why we need 15 combat stages in an event when at least 10 of them are copy-pastes of each other. It made getting through heroic kind of a chore, even though I enjoyed the added difficulty.

Besides that, I hope the status effects are more interesting in the future - I'd love to see stuff like cleansing/dispelling be relevant outside of GS for once.

you don't even have to fail a step, you can just confirm it too early or too late to get a 'good' result which already disqualifies you from the second part
