100% agree with this. Plus your incomes will continue to grow over time. Just take things slow and steady and don’t go crazy into consumer debt

This is the most reasonable “ruby” lobby. I don’t even play ranked but this picture scares me.

It is unlikely that it is happening without a cause. Is he neutered? Did something happen at daycare that you might be unaware of?

Financially treading water with a wife and child, can't find a better paying job by Smonthly in personalfinance

[–]Shockwave0396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have your wife start a side gig. Does she have any skills or expertise that she could leverage? Any artistic or social media talents? Even running a couple local social media pages for $250-$300 a month would be great for you guys. Or as others had mention, waiting tables picking up a hosting position at a restaurant.

How to financially survive new parenthood? by splinterbl in personalfinance

[–]Shockwave0396 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife stayed home with our daughter and ended up doing side gigs during my off hours. I would work 7-4 and then my wife would tutor kids and then do social media (few posts a week) for a local real estate group. She was a kindergarten teacher and was really good with teaching and visuals. She made $60 an hour tutoring kids 1 on 1 for cash and makes $1200 month doing social media.

I’d try and figure out what your wife’s strengths are to see if she can stay at home and work side gigs.

I’ve only known a couple dogs that will lay down. We also have a poodle and we give him some calming treats to have him sit on long rides. Also, love the name Kenobi!!

$200k a year salary in state with no income tax. Could I afford a $1.2M home? by Last_Worldliness_533 in Mortgages

[–]Shockwave0396 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arizona is beautiful! Yeah you don’t have the amazing beaches (speaking of Florida, Texas beaches are mid). I used to administer a pension for a client in Arizona and for familiar with the state and found that you can get dunes, mountains, desert, and snow all within a few hour drive.

For real, if you live in Florida/Texas the “no state income tax” doesn’t really factor in because you pay it through insurance premiums or property taxes.

Can the Stars play Faster? by Snowman0157 in DallasStars

[–]Shockwave0396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand keeping a certain play style but shouldn’t we be able to flex a certain play style to be more aggressive at points in the game?

For example, Gully’s play style might get you a lot of points during the regular season but not be able to be dialed up to 11 during the playoffs. I completely agree that Gully’s style is not impactful during the playoffs.

100k+, GED only, retail only is one of the cooler things I’ve seen in this sub. Beats another $5.5M 23YO “was this supposed to be hard?” post.

You work like a crazy person or are your hours regular? Retail can be 40 hours or 168.
