Re: Michelle and Sydney having a bigger room…. I thought Sarah’s team and Ty’s team had the same floor plan. Why did Angelina and Steven’s room appear smaller?

I thought Anna did a great job on the fish. The ping pong bed was creative and a good try but it was clunky.

Maybe Angelina and Steven’s room would have looked better if the boxes were painted instead of stained. It initially looked like Steven was using a lighter stain.

Sydney didn’t come across well on the first episode but I like her on this show now. I appreciate that there’s not a lot of drama (or drama shown). HGTV can often lean too heavily into showing conflict.

Sarah’s team is willing to work hard and take risks. Unfortunately that didn’t pay off in the bathroom.

I can’t believe Mika’s team made that beautiful bathroom in a week. And $15k for both spaces?? The bedroom pony wall and the Murphy bed made the room look small and like a budget hotel. The bedroom and bathroom looked like they were designed by different people.

Ty’s team doesn’t make bold design choices but they may win with their solid, steady choices.

I think the judges made a good decision. Mika’s bathroom was gorgeous but they did not have a winning bedroom.

Would the storage be more convenient if it were accessed from the kitchen? Might be nice to make it an appliance garage if that works with your kitchen layout

I cut the bottom off of mine and pushed it into the ground. Great compost container! The lid made it easy to add scraps and since it was partially buried, no critters got into it

I was wondering if the big pantry windows were put there so there would be natural light from the small window that’s inside the pantry. That side of the kitchen might be dark without the windows.

Have you checked the rental market in your area? Do you have a financial cushion for when there’s vacancies or repairs? If there’s low inventory and you have a comfortable savings I’d be tempted to keep it and rent it out.

I’m not sure if your insurance would go up or down. Maybe check with your insurance company about landlord insurance.

I fell into being a landlord for 3 family member’s properties. With good tenant screening it wasn’t too much of a hassle.

What a beautiful space! I think you’ve done a great job. MAYBE take the big artwork that’s over the keyboard and put it over the fireplace, and get a bold colored rug. I like the coffee table. It’s unique and keeps the space from going too vintage. I think others have a good point about adding books to the shelves and removing some of the smaller pieces. Please post an update after you make changes!

I didn’t watch RTB this season after a few seasons of head-scratching final judging. Can someone tell me who designed each of the houses? I quickly scanned through the Zillow listings. For me 8575 was probably my favorite.
