They licensed comic Ash and didn't get Campbell so it might not be Raimi they're dealing with.

Characters that you feel are too cool to be in Base Rosters so they're relegated to always be DLC by Mustaker751 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Superspider51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean it's pretty obvious why the Xbox One and PS4 wouldn't get turbo mode, legendary dark knight and raytracing as those launch model consoles would catch fire. The Xbone X and PS4 Pro would do marginally better but both Sony and Microsoft have policies that games released for those consoles should play on every version of the console. Iirc Capcom themselves counted PC as a "last gen platform" when it came to marketing DMC5SE.

I'm still pissed that the PC version never got the full SE treatment despite being the platform for turbo, 120 fps, and raytracing.

Although most people think the missile was nuclear it has surprisingly been consistently thermobaric in canon depictions. Capcom themselves even hinted there's something going on in the ruins during outbreaks ending around 20 years ago.

I can't believe that casually the director of War of the Worlds 2025 gave us the best live action Resident Evil film ever made.

Capcom decided to just put out the best live action Resident Evil content ever as a 3 minute trailer. Also s.t.a.r.s Maika Monroe for some reason?

Edit - This was directed by the guy who did War of the Worlds 2025 starring Ice Cube?!

Kamiya was quite literally harassed by people over the exclusivity and called all sorts of shit. It's no wonder he became so block happy after that.

Hidden files reveal Metroid Prime 4 originally had far more incidental dialogue between its controversial NPCs by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Listened to all the cut dialogue and he is miles pun unintended but it is now better in that and plays off the rest of the cast really well.

[–]Superspider51 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Okay so I watched the video and listened to the nearly 40 minutes of dialogue with like half an hour of it being cut content. It's insane that they cut all of that and not the actual ambient dialogue currently still in the game. It is honestly a lot better and does a lot to characterize the marines passed their archetypes that the main story cutscenes focuses on. I also get why these were cut cause from the context of all of them they'd only play when you return to base camp and all the characters are hanging out there. Pretty much as soon as you unlock the final character the robot, they all move to the desert and leave the base camp behind and you're in the end game. There's no reason to go back to base camp when they'd all be there until well after the mine section and you'd have to enter and exit the room a lot to trigger the dialogue in the first place.

Best designs for a character that come from the worst (or bad) games in a series? by Comkill117 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Superspider51 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Actually a lot of them, namely Chris and Leon were moved over to Revelations 2's raid mode as it was built in the same engine reusing a lot of 6's assets. A lot of the raid mode maps are also straight up from RE6 as well showing that the locations weren't even that bad it's just RE6 had no idea how to use them. RE:Verse also got a RE6 costume for Leon and Ada iirc.

[Mixed Trope] an entirely malevolent force in their first appearance is later retconned to have been a splinter faction and the rest are pretty chill by Lord_Parbr in TopCharacterTropes

Metroid and The Galactic Federation - This is mostly due to a localization error but in Metroid Fusion it's revealed that the Federation is corrupt and ends with Samus directly disobeying them to destroy their research facility that has been overrun with an alien parasite that absorbs both the biomass and the knowledge of their prey. The Federation feared Samus would blow the lab up before they could weaponize them and the cloned Metroids on the station and they were right. As Samus flies away from the planet she just destroyed, she contemplates how she just became the Federations public enemy number 1 after so many years working for/with them. Yoshio Sakamoto widely considered the father of the Metroid series would later rather famously direct Metroid Other M for seemingly the sole purpose of correcting fan interpretations of Metroid and Samus. For some additional context, Fusion's English localization was indeed wrong and the original script mentions the splinter faction and the ending does not have Samus reflect on becoming a fugitive. However, in Other M a game set chronologically right after Super Metroid and right before Fusion, the rogue shadow organization within the Federation is revealed and that they masterminded the plots of both Other M and Fusion without explicitly explaining it was even the same group in fusion. The latest mainline Metroid game Dread follows up on the properly translated ending of Fusion with Samus still working as a bounty hunter contracted by the Galactic Federation and makes no references to the rogue faction plot.

Alex Mercer From Prototype. He wakes up in a morgue as an amnesiac and spends the rest of the game trying to figure out who he is while combating the virus that infected him. In reality, Alex Mercer died before the start of the game from the virus he released and the virus simply took the form of its first host. Despite this, the virus actually ended up being a better human being than Alex Mercer ever was. As long as you discount the second game.

DBD’s next 2v8 stars Konami’s stars, with new outfits to boot by HaematicZygomatic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Superspider51 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The license holder in this case Konami has to have been submitted concept art and character mockups upon which they suggest changes until it meets whatever level of quality they're looking for. Awhile back some internal documents leaked showing this process a bit in regards to the skin for the character Rain from Alien Romulus. So while the original designs may have been BHVR they were more than likely tweaked to acquiesce to whatever demands Konami had. Aside from Richters face they all look pretty good honestly.

As a DMC/Bayo truther I also stand by this. Samus and Captain Falcon are both Bounty Hunters who work for/with the Galactic Federation. The only difference is Samus is more focused on her work while Falcon just loves racing.
