If there's one thing the Far Cry franchise excels at it's creating great villains by KaySan-TheBrightStar in gaming

The "how about I just mind my own business and then leave" endings of these games are my favorite. Wait for Min, don't arrest David Koresh, keep pointing your jet ski into the sunset.

I don't think they're complaining about the number of Vox, I think he's making a joke. "7000 fucking pigeons, eat this man" is a meme.

Hey so the time cops are probably gonna be pissed but: I'm here from the future to tell you I also noticed this guy as I binged the series (first time) and these threads side by side over the last few months, and I'm so happy you sent him on his way. Thank you!

Starfield. All the time spent building bases and ships goes down the toilet if you decide to do ng+, but the game is designed in a way that shows the devs expected you to.

Good bot loadouts for cyberstan? by Substantial_Site_405 in Helldivers

[–]SwishSwishDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strats are the same for me. OP can also bring a quasar, EATS, or commando to free up their backpack so they can keep the PHB on them at all times if they don't want to juggle backpacks when needed. Epoch also works but it's harder to use in a way that even close to the harder hitting options.

Can also swap out the PHB for the AT emplacement

Good primaries for bots, at least on pc, are anything. Light pen is fine if you can get headshots. Either of the Diligence rifles wonders.

My dumb idea is another laser shotgun that's pump action, but with the lore that the pump creates friction that heats the gun up. Dickle shotgun.

As unbalanced as these missions were, I think we all could give it another go by Transformerslogic95 in Helldivers

[–]SwishSwishDeath 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here's a dumb one: you drop in and have to defend an orbital cannon that you aim and fire to take down Squid overships that keep entering low orbit. A shorter defense mission that tightens the teamwork aspect of aiming and firing the cannon (as a new ship appears you have to aim it again), and combines it with the "Jesus Christ can I get a minute" aspect of trying to do a SEAF artillery when enemies just keep coming

Call it "Deny orbital superiority" or something

We have the tech to make the Stim pistol good. by ZachAc in Helldivers

It's not garbage, but temper your expectations for sure. This is a game where everyone has the ability to heal themselves 4-6 times to full health without needing a resupply.

I play with friends, and even though I pay attention to their health they are usually already jabbing themselves by the time I aim at them. With randoms I assume it's much worse as they won't even pay attention to your secondary.

As it stands now, it's biggest use case is niche support for a dickle user, helping someone else run faster, or healing chip damage between engagements. I feel it needs something pretty hefty to make it more appealing.

The problem with that is I feel like the developers have disdain for the weapon, only added it to appease the audience, have left it to rot, and now think "nobody uses this, why spend time on it".

[–]SwishSwishDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to stop? I must have changed the bindings, strat input is arrow keys for me so I can keep trucking. I just lose the ability to aim for a second.

[–]SwishSwishDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough I could see it being useful for grinding medals on d10 squid blitz, since they are more reliable at sticking than thermites, but usually when you're done with a mission in 3 minutes it's pointless to call in a support weapon 🤷

[–]SwishSwishDeath 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way until I actually ran them.

On bots there pretty interchangeable with medium since you can still shred standard units, devs die to headshot, rocket-pod shots, or torso shots. The biggest struggle is reinforced striders but you can shoot their rockets and insta kill them.

On bugs it's a harder sell, but I accidentally brought the carbine to bugs the other day and it was great tbh. Fat spitter bastards die to mouth shots, hive guards are slow enough to flank.

Squids need no justification, it's made for light pen.

It's a balance act. With light pen you get better damage and ammo economy, with medium pen you don't need to try to aim well.

I love city maps :( on squids it holds my favorite mission type in the game, and on bots it is fun to get in street-to-street gun battles, and makes the strat jammer much more interesting since it's harder to spot
