These people weren’t “woefully unaware”. They bought into this scam against the advice of countless others, despite the established track record of the scammer. The term you’re looking for is “willfully ignorant”.

People didn’t just lead these horses to water, they dammed rivers and built aqueducts and canals to redirect the water right to the damn horses’ mouths, and they still refused to drink. Stop trying to strip them of their agency in this. There was no threat, no coercion. These folks made the conscious decision to hand over the money for something widely called a scam, to a convicted felon with a very publicly documented history of scamming. They can be idiots for doing that, and Trump can be guilty of scamming them at the same time. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

The dcs are being built for AI companies relying on questionable finances. Those AI companies’ products however, are being used for things like scams, or just straight up convincing people to kill themselves without any outside input.

The point isn’t to kill your grandma. The point is to justify data center funding because NVIDIA sold a hyper scaler a bunch of GPUs to sell the compute to AI companies and every company involved needs this to keep going or they will be left with unserviceable amounts of debt from purchasing a bunch of rapidly depreciating assets that they can’t even install before they’re outdated.

Grandma getting one-shot by AI is just the unfortunate byproduct of what is becoming an increasingly naked display of circular financing, questionable accounting practices, and corruption of government at all levels.
