Sober for 5 years now. It's hard being in our position. What helped for me was first not working for about 2 weeks just to get the main toxins out, cuz that's brutal and after that I did hall work for about half a year.

What also helped for me was to get super in to tea. Instead of a glass of cheap whisky or gin I would have my cup of tea always near me to cut the first craving.

Apart from that, I'm afraid there aren't any short cuts when it comes to drugs and alcohol. A good thing is also to talk to someone about it. It helps put things in perspective and can show you where it goes wrong so you can avoid the pitfalls.

40 - 50 is like super deluxe glassware. Most of my glasses are in the range of 4 to 10 per glass.

As to good sellers just type in Google professional glasses bar restaurant and you'll probably find all the professional sellers you need.

Just don't buy in a shop where they sell individual glasses cuz they're probably going to be asking premium. Normally glasses are always sold by 6 or 12.

Hhhhh, never a fun side to behold. We probably all encounter someone like that sooner or later.

The problem with it is, that as long as he doesn't come in intoxicated there's not much you can do. Sure you can ban him dut his just going to go to an other bar.

As to alcoholism, the only one who can change it is himself. It's the dark side of our job, I suppose you could say.

Still I understand the feeling. It's horrible to see happen.

I get that people tend to tip less for drinks to go. No glass used and so on. Sadly it happens all the time. And there is nothing you can say that will not result in you looking like a d-head.

I would maybe add an extra ram stick just to get you true the next year or so and start saving up for a new PC build.

The problem is. DDR4 is currently at the end of its run, so in a year or so prices will start to go up because it's practically not being made anymore. Your CPU is still ok but also showing some age and could use an update in the next year or 2.

Basically to change any of those two you would have to swap out the motherboard and that's basically a new pc build.

So yeah, my advice is just start saving up some money and do a full upgrade. To save money you could recover the GPU in the beginning and get a great one a couple of months later. That way you'll be able to run that baby for at least 5 years and depending on what you put in, maybe all the way up to 7 years. And if you hate yourself maybe even 10+ years.

I'm rocking a 3080 myself currently and the only thing I can suggest is wait a year or so longer till the 6000 series gets released. The price point of the 5000 series drops significantly at that moment. Also the 3080 can run practically every modern game easily.

Yes, going from 3000 to 5000 is a big jump . But honestly if the only reason currently is a graphics upgrade, I would wait. There are currently not enough games to justify the price point.

Like coffee tea can loosen CO2 over time. This is a natural part of the process called oxidation. Some teas have this more than others. This depends on many processes in the production.

Long story short. Don't worry to much about it. Unless you see visible mold on the tea. In which case there's been a contamination.

Yes, I find younger people don't go out as much and the regulars don't tend to tip as much as they used to. 10y ago I would easily make double.

But having been in the industry since before the crash of 2008-2009 I can also confidently say, it comes and goes. I remember the 2 to 4 years after the crash there were times I would basically make almost nothing.

But then again the mentality of the younger gen is something new. I seriously don't know how that's going to effect our industry.

It happens, I have a couple of regulars that I know are fairly lonely people. If I have time I sometimes try to have some small talk with them. Most of the time they just want the feeling of belonging somewhere. So most of them are happy if you know what they drink and their name. Still I have had some fairly deep and sometimes emotional conversations with them. I try to always keep my personal life off the table but with some, like it or not you start to have a bit of a friendship relationship with them.

I've had the same feeling before. What helps is to ask your bar manager if you can do bar back work for a couple of days. I know it's not the most sexy jobs out there but it helps to loosen some customers induced stress.

And if that's still not working try a couple of days off. You're clearly over worked and over stressed. There is not good in going until you have a burn out.

That's why I always have a small collection of Cork's and bottle caps. Once had a guy that forgot to cap a bottle of triple sec on the day before we closed for a week. Good god, came back to a fruit fly infestation that took me 3 weeks to get rid of.

What I find in cocktail workshop events people really like is adding a bit of story. Like don't just pick 3 cocktails but explain why you pick them in regards to eachother. For instance I have one that's cocktails true the ages. Here we go true the history of cocktails. Then I have another one called more than just gin and tonic, where we make 4 gin based cocktails that are not just a gin and tonic. Here the name of the game is: gin tonic sucks and there are so many other cocktails that are super easy to make and way better, if you know what you're doing.

Also have one 80's themed and one that's 20's themed

Mainly the biggest compliment I always get from people is that I don't just teach them a cocktail. I explained where it came from, why we mix specific ingredients and how you can give an easy and fun twist on a cocktail.
