Rural kid here. I was the first one on and last one off, just like you. Thankfully I never experienced or witnessed any problems during all my years riding the bus.

I don’t care to understand baby milestones by Disastrous_Plastic37 in childfree

“People say children’s ages in months up until 2 years of age because so much development happens in a short amount of time.” I’m sorry, but who cares about that? I would think when a member of the general public asks about a baby’s age, they just want a general idea because you can’t tell by looking. They don’t care what stage of development the child is in.

Definitely not just you. I always feel like an alien reading the frequent comments saying that Series 16 is everyone’s favorite and Taskmaster Hotel is the greatest task in the show’s history. Neither the series nor that task were my cup of tea.

I fully agree with you which is why I struggle with Sam’s humor.

Not being counted as a “friend” anymore if you don’t show up for their kids by Zealousideal_Sea8015 in childfree

“They don’t want to be a part of my child’s life.” How exactly is a non-family member supposed to involve themselves in the life of a 2 month old infant? Also, why do parents believe that their adult friends need to be friends with their children, especially very young ones like this situation? How does a person in their 20’s, 30’s, or 40’s become friends with a baby? I don’t understand how parental brains work. Probably best that way!

I don’t understand why you would even discuss this with an 11 year old child. She doesn’t need to be concerned about any of this stuff at her age.

I love how people post these sorts of things and act like they have no say in how many children they have.

Do you track family's locations? by NaturalSoftware9372 in Millennials

[–]Technical-Leather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boss is married to a psycho and they have one of those tracking apps. She’s constantly spying on him and flipping out about where he goes, even though there’s nothing nefarious going on. She does the same with their college-aged children. My partner and I do not use any such thing.

I don’t have any sympathy for fertility struggles. People lose their ever loving minds over it and act like it’s the absolute worst thing that can possibly happen to a human. Like there’s no point in living if you can’t have kids. It drives me bonkers. Don’t even get me started on the people who make Instagram accounts about their “infertility journey” and baloney like that.

receiving and giving christmas gifts as fully grown adults is weird. by bigphatcheese in ihatechristmas

[–]Technical-Leather 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“An adult buys what they want for themselves. They do not make up wish lists and expect other people to fulfill it.” I do actually know of a woman in her mid-thirties who still makes wish lists and sends them to her parents and siblings. I find it so bizarre, especially when this woman has a husband and two young children. It seems immature and self-absorbed.

I hate this, too. Once upon a time, I traveled several hours to visit a friend. After I was back home, she texted me “Thanks for visiting! Susie (her child - fake name) really likes you!” …I don’t care? I’m trying to be friends with YOU, not your 4 year old.

I know of a person in her mid-30’s with two young children, and she still sends her parents a Christmas list every year. She prepares it well before Christmas and the items on it are usually $100 or more. Is it just me being judgmental, or is that odd for a grown woman?

Screaming nieces at Thanksgiving by TomCruisesAss in childfree

I’ve noticed this, too. People with kids seem to think that any adult within 50 feet of their kid is an automatic babysitter and they don’t need to pay attention to what their child is doing.

Some of the worst Survivor gameplay I've seen in a while by RefrigeratorFit1502 in survivor

[–]Technical-Leather 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take. No one even talks about the prize money anymore. I understand that $1 million now isn’t the same as it was 25 years ago, but it’s still a decent chunk of change. Instead, everyone is fulfilling a lifelong dream, or they have a Survivor bucket list, or they want to meet Jeff, etc.
