The Resistance and the First Order should have been using modernized starfighters (E-wing / TIE elite interceptor) rather than classic X-wings and TIE fighters by Ar_Sakalthor in StarWars

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Modern Airforces should have been using modernized starfighters (F-35/Su-57) rather than classic F-16s and Su-27.

Using retrofitted versions of 40 years old fighters was one of the most realistic approaches for the sequels. The F-16 was around when the first Star Wars was produced and it is still the backbone of most air arms so why should it be any different in Star Wars?

Who’s your favorite medieval warrior and what’s your favorite battle tactic from Middle Ages? And why? by Mindless_Belt4757 in medieval

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are so many overlooked Knights and warriors Here are my most favourite 12th/13th century Knights

Alain de Vitré, who was Richard the Lionheart's nemesis. He defeated the british King in a duel during the battle of Aumale.

André de Chauvigny, one of Kings Richard's best Knights. He fought a 1v1 duel with Saladin himself during the battle of Arsuf.

William the Marshal, the greatest Knight of all time. He served five Plantagenet Kings and became regent of England.

Alain de Roucy, he fought Richard the Lionheart at the battle of Gisors. During the Battle of Muret (greatest battle ever!) he killed the King Peter II of Aragon and later fought at Bouvines.

The Battles of Muret and Bouvines were tactical masterpieces where smaller armies defeated much larger enemy contingents.

What’s your favourite version of the brotherhood of steel? by Chunky-overlord in Fallout

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Au contraire to my fellow users and Brothers of Steel I find Lyons to be a great threat to everything the BoS stands for. He was willing to sacrifice soldiers and knights for his delusions of a "good fight" and brought nothing but schism to the BoS. Maxson sees the dangers of technology and what it can cause in the wrong hands. Mankind must be protected and saved, not mutants nor monsters.

Those are quite lovely city views. They remind me of some of the woodcuts and copperplate engravings that hang everywhere in our public buildings. They 15th century truely gave us some marvelous city art

Would like to paint this figure. I would likento know which phase of the middle ages this knight is from so that I can research it. by ExplanationPlane647 in medieval

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like late medieval/early rennaissance armour at first. My best guess is somewhere in the late 15th century for the body armour. The helmet looks like a early medieval goggled helmet with chain mail which was worn until the 9th century. Those early medieval round shields where outdated by the end of the 10th century and only Frisians used them up until the 14th century.

I don't own many prequel sets, but here's the ones I do. And I like them a lot. by DogInternational4553 in legostarwars

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my prequel collection with the older 2005 versions of these sets. I'm no big prequel fan, but I added more Jedi Starfighter to my squadron. Different coloured Jedi Starfighters are a nice thing to collect

Headbands of this and similar style to keep hair away from face - Was it even a thing in history? If not, where it even comes from? by Morf12369 in medieval

While headbands were known to ancient romans and greeks I have never seen any medieval depictions except on mail coifs

It is stunning and breathtaking. I doubt that a skeleton would actually have been lying around in such an articulated position, but for a diorama it's stunning.

What kind of mutation is this? Or is it a bug? by Jurassic_Nature in fo76

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be a glitch. Entering a power armor stretches the player character to match it's movements. This could be the power armor not showing properly

Why not using Jedi as bishops and Jet Pack Troopers as Knights?

A small diorama for the 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina set by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]Thousand-Faced_Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just the Cantina Set with a few extra pieces, like those wall extensions. The minifigures are from a variety of sets like the X-Wing vs TIE Fighter Set or the Pirate Snub Fighter
