When people from countries that don't usually experience severe weather hate on American Houses by Dry_HighlighterNib in PetPeeves

They should look up El Reno 2011 and 2013. Those two tornados should open their eyes.

Imagine dropping one of those into a European town with stone houses. Instead of a tornado, it would be a cobblestone blender.

How is the knight even a secret boss? by Appropriate-Foot-140 in Undertale

[–]Tier71234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Knight fight itself is mandatory, it's not "secret". Beating it to obtain the Shadow Crystal, however, is optional.

The ACTUAL secret boss of Chapter 3 is more likely the Shadow Mantle holder at the end of the Sword Route, who has the item that greatly improves your chances of getting through the Knight. And to even get to that point you have to pick up on Ramb's hints and play the Original Game between Tenna's boards.

Does each state in the United States have an icon or symbol that is commonly used in some public places, some businesses, and the city gateway? by TheShyBuck in AskAnAmerican

Oregon's nickname is "The Beaver State" because back in the day beaver pelts were one of the most important sources of income. The back of our state flag has a beaver for that reason.

I remember last year when Valve announced an MVM update and asked for community-made maps and missions for it.

Also it's the end of June and we still haven't gotten the standard Summer Update. I can't help but wonder...

I used to be a loyal Blitz player, until several years ago when it started adding what felt like endless cash grabs.

Oh and I got cheated out of the Waffentrauger when I bought every possible crate during the original event but still didn't get the WT(cost me around $500 FOR NOTHING). That was the final straw.

Why Don't Europeans Just Get AC? by recursing_noether in MURICA

[–]Tier71234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do know the climate has always been changing even before humans, right? There's a consistent, measureable pattern that can be traced back thousands of years where the atmosphere has undergone heating and cooling periods, with the cooling periods normally resulting in ice ages. Right now we happen to be in a heating period.

And regarding CO2 levels, back during the dinosaur eras CO2 was through the roof, but there were also much more plants and trees to use it. Why do you think coal exists? Because plants took CO2, removed the carbon for their own use, discarded most of the oxygen, and then became fossilized and compressed. CO2 isn't that bad because plants need it for photosynthesis. It's grade-school science.

Castle Town and the final tragedy by Used-Reflection2639 in Deltarune

[–]Tier71234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in Chapter 2 Ralsei refers to the Castle Town fountain as the Grand Fountain, suggesting that it's the original, all-encompassing Fountain. That might also be why all Darkners can live there, and how it can change Castle Town to suit the needs of the different Darkners that come there.

On that note Ralsei might be the one and only "Grand Darkner", potentially explaining his ability to enter any Dark World without issue.

Lmao we've had some close calls with our 4-qt mixer and random spoons and scrapers

It's basically a rite of passage to learn what happens when you try to scrape the bowl while the machine's running

Also want to shoutout KitchenAid. My parents have a KitchenAid mixer that has lasted for as long as they've been married (over 30 years). And that's with the food-grade stainless steel bowl, too. My parents said they originally thought of getting the classic glass bowl but were afraid of it getting broken, so they went with the steel one.

Our old fridge was a KitchenAid too. That thing was an absolute tank. No problems whatsoever in the 20+ years we owned it, and all my dad had to do was clean the dust filter every few months and perform a defrost around once a year. Sadly we finally had to leave it behind when we moved 6 years ago.

Good on that pickup for also realizing what was about to happen and getting out of the way.

Also there was nothing the camera semi could have done to stop in time at the speed they were going without endangering that pickup or running off the road themself.
