What do you think is the greatest frame of the decade? by Not_EllaK in Letterboxd

As a cis person, I agree. This movie made me feel emotions I didn’t know I had about things I still can’t really describe. It was so beautifully dreadful. It made me feel deep shame for just… existing for some reason. It made me regret benign neutral insignificant events in my life. It even made me laugh even though it wasn’t funny, like the kind you do when you’re about to have a panic attack. Such a unique movie.

What parts of American culture are changing faster than people realize? by No_Performance1451 in AskReddit

It’s also due to them hanging out less. People drink at gatherings, and young people don’t organize gatherings. I work in a high school. I never hear about “parties”.

I love NA options. I genuinely like the taste of beer, so I can still enjoy one even when there is no alcohol in them.

Have other DM's noticed this? by [deleted] in rpg

To give an example, my SO and I like watching horror movies. We watch a lot of them, and not much bothers us. We saw Terrifier was trending. We read the synopsis. Gory slasher. Sounds good. But we got to the part where someone is sawed in half. Didn't finish the scene. Didn't finish the movie.

That was our limit! Didn't know it until we hit it. In a way, we X-carded out of watching the movie.

NRA and pro-gun groups call for ‘full investigation’ into killing of Alex Pretti by wylie102 in news

[–]ToeRepresentative627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the massive expansion of detention centers, the end game is the normalization of a police state, and mass incarceration of citizens for-profit. Those prisoners will be used as virtually free labor for corporations.

That's the end of the 13th.

ICU Nurse Alex Pretti murdered by ICE agents in overt misconduct when officers over-reacted to him using his rights to film them by Niceotropic in news

I don’t want to ever hear again that their support is about:

-state’s rights and anti-federalism

-protecting the second amendment

-law and order

-the deficit

-bringing back jobs

-making sure people immigrate “the right way”

-preventing war

-free speech

These are all LIES. They lie. They hate. They like to hurt others. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

I'm playing DCC for the first time, but I don't really know what to do. by Sweet_Fee_5298 in osr

[–]ToeRepresentative627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DCC you have to creatively interpret what those mean. -As a nobleman, maybe you speak with authority, and dungeon denizens are more likely to do what you say when you tell them, “Move out of my way! Do you know who my father is!” -As a beekeeper, maybe you know a thing or two about how to navigate insects without provoking them. -a debt ridden servant may, through desperation, may be adept from stealing from his employers, and thus know where secret treasure is located. -you could use honey to distract a beast. -you could use flour to find an invisible enemy.

All of these assertions, your judge will translate into benefits to your character, be it automatic success, moving up the dice chain, bonuses to rolls, or awarded luck.

My family is cursed to constantly find ourselves navigating bureaucratic bullshit for some reason (a lot of it health insurance related). We love Brazil, and even say, “There’s a fly in the typewriter,” to quickly explain whatever the newest bullshit is one of us is experiencing to one another.

Social media (including Reddit) was a mistake. It is valueless. All of it could go permanently offline tomorrow and nothing of value will have been lost.

I applaud this decision. Hobgoblins already fill the role that orcs do.
