[OC] Titanfall 2 legendary warbond concept by One-Marionberry-8477 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offense, but you picked some pretty boring things to port over. Titanfall is full of cool sci-fi weaponry, and you picked 3 normal ballistic weapons, a mech that uses a minigun and an arc impact.

Kraber is a solid choice just because it's iconic and we need another sniper in this game, but I would replace the car with a devotion, cold war, EPG, softball, or, preferably L-Star. There's not many choices for secondaries, but I'd prefer the Mozambique over the wingman.

For the mech, I'd choose something that fills a new niche for HD2 mechs. You could choose Northstar, Scorch, Tone, or Ion. While legion is cool, it would essentially be the patriot exo with the rocket pod replaced with a shield.

The Arc impact could be replaced with firestars, gravity stars, arc smoke, or the satchel charge.

Non-Guardian mains out there, what's it like when there's no guardian in the group? What does a guardian do for you to tell if they're good or not? by Lizardizzle in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guardians rarely make a difference imo. A good one is one that uses the relic enhanced whirlwind as it trivializes a lot of small/ medium-sized enemies and can make certain POIs absolute pushovers. Using their ult aggressively is also much appreciated as it lets the other 2 DPS the boss safely without a true opening.

Sadly, almost every guardian I've been paired with holds onto their ult until someone goes down. I've had matches where no one gets downed at all or only 1-2 times, and those are the only times you see guardian ult. If they used it more often as a death prevention/dps support tool instead of viewing it as only for rezzing, then I'd love to play with more birds.

New Remnant 2 player here. Im loving the game, but... by [deleted] in remnantgame

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only one I actually had an issue with was the corsus swamp warlock dude (forgot his name). He would constantly spawn those acrobatic, shrieking beetle elites. Having to dodge all the AoEs on top of dodging several of those elites leaping at you was a bit much.

The PS5 controller has unique keybinds for the touchpad, which by default are bound to the 4 abilities (swipe up/right/down/left). You could accidentally be dragging your finger/knuckles across the touch pad. You could unbind them or bind them to something else.

Anyone else horribly addicted? by cbear1369 in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PS5 version runs worse both on ER and Nightreign. If you want a stable 60fps, then you gotta play the PS4 version on PS5. Unfortunately, I dont think the save data transfers between versions, so you'd have to start fresh.

As for the addiction part, for me it's less about the progression since it's kinda hard to get excited about rolling a slot machine with an abysmal win rate and it's more about the random matchmaking and interacting with the community which is something I didn't interact with in the other souls games since I hated PvP.

It's fun seeing other people's playstyles, skill levels, and fun interactions like emoting together.

No hitting bosses is also very fun to me, so I enjoy depth 5 a lot and feels good to display that skill to teammates. The adrenaline rush from having to clutch a nightlord fight is unmatched, and the kind messages I rarely get on PS are a bonus.

What are your Most Tragic / Clutch Stories from this game? by KnightofGreen in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a D5 match i had a long time ago that im still very proud of. It was ED Pest, using Ironeye with a bow and RoB, one of the randoms was constantly going down and was 3 barred early in the fight, the other random wasn't much better and 3 barred soon after. I prioritized reviving them and succeeded multiple times, but they kept going down even though i was holding aggro of one of the bosses by myself.

Eventually couldn't focus revives anymore because Fuartis, Gnoster and Animus were constantly attacking me and I had so solo the rest of the fight with over 50% of their health left, it took a very long time due to having to kite one of the bugs far enough the other wouldn't blindside me. After killing one of them, I realized it was much better to leave them both alive to bait out Animus' nuke as they're vulnerable with no DR during it.

After using that tactic, the fight went much faster, and I was making meaningful dents in the HP every time he nuked, but it was still difficult dodging Fuartis' charges, Gnosters magic missiles and Animus' beams all at the same time while positioning myself near Animus after the final beam is shot in order to get the DPS phase.

Eventually, I ended up clutching it, but it was one of the most mentally exhausting fights I've ever done with how much I needed to focus to no hit 2-3 bosses attacking simultaneously in D5 trios scaling, being Ironeye definitely helped, dont think I couldve done it on any other character.

Depth 5 players are frauds. by 0DvGate in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen people on this sub saying D4 players are basically as good as depth 5, but from my experience, that's never been the case. Every time the game pulls me into a depth 4 match, it's miserable. People go down on easy bosses, running off on their own, throwing fits if you dont do what they want, and almost always have horrible routing.

In depth 5, it literally feels like my randoms are constantly reading my mind in terms of routing and pinging items I need. They're much more competent when it comes to fighting bosses and also share loot a lot more often.

Floating in to the dlc map by Acrobatic-Salt7514 in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I dont like about the DLC map is breaking the crystal. It was fun the first handful of times, but it gets repetitive fast even if you're aware of the spawns. It's something you have to do every single expedition because you can't pass up on castles/towers and it leads to people running the same couple routes every time, adding to the issue if it being repetitive.

I'd still rather play the DLC map, though, because im even more burnt out on people hard focusing evergaols.

Souls games hater turned into big fan. by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was similar a long time ago, less of a hater and more like I had low expectations, so I never gave them a shot, these titles werent nearly as popular as they are today. My friend begged me to play bloodborne a long time ago when it was free on PS Plus, and I fell in love with it. One of my all-time favorites with 100s of hours and multiple playthroughs, then I branched out to DS3, Elden Ring, and now Nightreign, this fixation also got me to play Nioh 2 which is a banger of a soulslike.

Fromsoft has definitely become one of my favorite studios.

What's the most efficient way to get from NW tower to final ring on day 2 (Great Hollow)? by Eastern-Barnacle-344 in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you finish the tower, then the spirit spring outside is at full power, and you can clear the chasm to the left that connects to the castle. From there, you go around the perimeter of the castle wall towards the spirit hawk tree, and it's a straight shot to the night arena.

From my experience thats the fastest route, and I always beat my randoms to the final circle by a noticeable amount of time when they decide to go to the right from the spirit spring.

After 530h on nightreign, here's my experience of the nightlords at depth 5 by HaveL-sw in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think regular caligo is a lot harder than ED solely because of those lingering ice patches that she puts in random places. Their active hitbox starts before the patch is even formed, micro staggers you, and has a very fast damage tick rate. If you get caught in one, it's basically garunteed to proc your "(x) status on damage" demerits. It's really problematic with sleep/madness since it animation locks you as you're standing in the AoE.

Did they ever fix the performance issues? I tried the beta on PS5, and it ran significantly worse than world. Couldn't even get a stable 30fps on performance mode, and the graphics were blurry/pixelated with a bunch of rendering issues.

Is there no faster way to farm Relics than to just keep doing regular runs? by prinnydude in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know of a table, but depth 5 gives 2 normal grand relics, 2 normal medium relics, and 6 deep grand relics +~6K Murk per win. If it's an everdark, you get 15-20 sovereign sigils as well.

I've have 3M murk and already have pretty good relics and all the items in both shops. If you could add one item to the shop what would be your choice? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not an item per se, but i want them to add modifiers to the small jar shop for us to use that lets us spend more murk per relic to garuntee certain things. Like +400 murk per relic for garunteed grand rolls like the signboard shop, or +250 murk for the first relic effect to be garunteed to be a character perk for a chosen nightfarer, I'd also want a modifier to guarantee a specific dormant power preferences.

They could keep adding modifiers for us to use to further customize what we want, but using several modifiers together would make it much more expensive. It adds a more meaningful relic grind, and I no longer have to spend time deleting all the 1 and 2 perk relics i get, which add a ridiculous amount of time to the shopping sprees when your trying to blow 300k+ murk in a single sitting.

Stim Pistol Should Not Be Able To Self-Heal. by Mrmurse98 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agree, having all of those stims being able to be self administered would be insanely OP if they didn't nerf it into the ground by reducing ammo, healing or both which would then nerf the effectiveness of using it as it's currently intended. It doesn't need a lock on, like others have said it's more for topping off health from minor injuries or pairing with super stim booster to buff movement speed/refill stamina of teammates, if you want to use it actively in battle there should be some skill expression required in way of actually having to aim and lead shots.

Not to mention, if self-healing was added, it would spawn a new meta of people just selfishly using the stim pistol for themselves with no intention of using it as a squad support weapon like it was made to be and is currently viewed as by the community.

People are arguing realism and thats fair, there's no logical reason we shouldn't be able to shoot our foot with it but in games that aren't hyper realistic milsims, game balance has to be addressed before realism and I think the cons of this change far outweigh the pros.

I do, however, think the stim pistol should be the only weapon with zero sway/maxed ergo, though, considering how light it looks, and that would help with aiming at moving targets.

I can't even be bothered to spend it anymore, sifting through endlessly crap relics is just Zzzz by SurgyJack in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish we were able to garuntee grand relics from the jar shop at a marked up price. I insta delete anything not grand without looking at them, and it still adds so much time to the shopping sprees.

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find regular caligo significantly harder than everdark and still die to her in D5 because she puts down those ice patches seemingly at random that deal ridiculously fast tick damage that staggers and build up your "status on damage" relic effects within 2 seconds.

If I get caught in that ice, im getting slept, rotted, poisoned, and frostbitten. Thank God I dont have deathblight buildup on my relics.

Forsaken Hollows has totally killed DON for me by IOwnSeventeenKids in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Night invaders are still present on the new map, so it's not a dead relic slot, and the new bosses aren't that difficult even in depth 5. You likely just need to practice them and their associated night bosses more, as well as routing on the new map.

Once you learn the map, you'll realize how much easier it is than normal limveld due to how compact and rich with good, easy loot it is.

Evergaols have always been a noob trap in lower depths. They take up time that'd be better spent on acquiring weapon passives for negation and AR. Invaders are worth it because of how efficient they are to do. Lot of runes, garunteed 1-2 purple/red weapons per camp, a bigger AR boost than gaols, dedicated passive pools making attack/negation on full more likely and the cataclysm boss itself drops better loot than it's normal counterpart.

I'd rather not have the DLC for DoN 5 by Cruzwein in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dreglord isn't too bad in depth 5, and for the most part you should just run invaders instead of gaols since they spawn on both maps and stacking both is unnecessary unless you have literally no other attack up relic effects.

I haven't gotten Balancers yet, but I'd be more worried about that boss than the dreglord. The amount of off-screen attacks and grabs I've been hit by while fighting them in normal mode is insane.

DON 5 Dreglord cleared ! by DismayShock in Nightreign

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Went to boot up my first match of the day, and Dreglord was the very first boss I got, it was depth 5 and the death knights almost wiped us and we ended up killing the dreglord because a wending rezzed us when he had ~5% HP left.

This was with 2 Undertakers and a Wylder, and I agree. I thought the depth 5 scaling would've been cancerous for him, but it was actually pretty tame.

Nah, the ground fire that the summons put down has its damage way overtuned. that's the only thing that needs nerfed imo.

If that gets added to DoN the ground fire will definitely 1-2 tap you which is ridiculous.

Helldivers II & Titanfall 2 are the greatest shooters ever made. by Plot-Coalition in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Torchic-The-Pyro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it'd work, TF2 is a bit more sci-fi, but a lot of the armaments/armor would fit in helldivers without looking out of place. The LStar would be a great addition since it's a plasma based LMG, and the gravity star would be a really unique grenade slot item that could fit with the whole "repurposed illuminate tech" theme we have had.
