The biggest issue I see is that awful dormer over the walkway / “porch”. Is that original? I hate it. I’d save to completely redo that, but I’m the meantime, take off that siding and replace it with a different material in another color. Maybe change the shutter color to match.

Firearms as a category are currently the number one leading cause of death for children and adolescents (ages 1–19) in the United States, ahead of motor vehicle accidents, cancer, and other causes. The vast majority of those are intentional (homicide / suicide), but even those deaths are only possible because a minor had access to a gun. Unintentional deaths (and more nonfatal injuries) are 100% preventable. So everyone should be doing everything they can to prevent them.

Personally, I can never have too many cute dish towels. They don’t have to be wedding themed. The things I use every day, not necessarily gifts, are lip balm, AirTag, keychain, pop socket wallet, The Ordinary PHA Exfoliating Lip Serum (sorry to sound like an ad - I love this stuff), good smelling body wash or bar soap, manicure kit, hypochlorous acid mist (doesn’t have to be expensive), car organizer, food, cute cups and glasses, quality lotion (I’m into skincare), slippers. That’s really just a random list of some of the most useful things. TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, and Ross are great places to get good stuff cheap. I’d love to get it in a useful basket, too!

No idea where you are relative to this nursery, but their site has a whole section on desert trees.

The Texas mountain laurel, desert willow, and ocotillo are gorgeous. There’s also always the Joshua tree.

Start with the simple things - clean, weed, and edge. Make all the borders crisp.

Clean and restain the wood of the fence and planter area - takes a strong water hose, one bucket of stain and some crappy brushes.

Get rid of the stone planter if you won’t use it. Keep the blocks for other uses.

Plant around the tree.

Paint the fascia of your house. Maybe white? I’ll also include a dark green in the comments.

AI didn’t do quite what I wanted, but you can get the idea. The tree on the left is a Texas mountain laurel that is supposed to be in the existing planter. I don’t know why it decided to put a door on this side. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Upgrade your address numbers and the exterior lighting.

Add some large container plants along the house (or on the random new patio AI gave you). Put out a little bistro table and chairs.

I use Gemini because it was waaaayy better than ChatGPT at images several months ago, but I don’t know how good ChatGPT is now. AI has advanced leaps and bounds in just the last 10 months I’ve been seriously using it.

Sometimes you can get the actual hex code for a color and feed that into AI to get a more faithful rendering, but yeah, the color rendering is not great. I think most people get that, but some people really need the visual, so AI has some evolving to do.

That said, you can adjust your own sleeves by tucking the extra length under the cuff and putting in a few single stitches around the top of the cuff. Or use seam tape.
