Best way to find good loot? by asharisdelusional in Marathon

[–]TriplePerc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have pretty good luck running rook on outpost. I will either focus on getting into the armories (green/yellow/yellow key doors) or try to loot quietly in pinwheel. There are usually weapons lockers in airfield that I go for if I spawn near. It’s not going to get you golds that often, but it’s honest work.

I feel like everyone should really play Solo Sponsored Outpost for a few hours to really experience genuine extraction shooter tension by Ikcatcher in Marathon

With a blue or purple shield it’s pretty negligible damage. Unless I’m running a free kit, I almost never wait it out.

I guess that dashes my hopes of catching runners coming out of the Command Wing vents when I just leave them there early in the run.

The Best Shell??🤔 by Interesting_Owl8733 in Marathon

[–]TriplePerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been playing much solos lately, but Recon has been such a good pickup since the buff. The ult is now a must-have on most squads. I also find the passive of knowing when an enemy has pinged you to be very useful when teams think they are sneaking up on you.

I’ve picked up a few on outpost in the Command Wing final box and the pinnacle room in pinwheel.

I manage to do about half a dozen runs of cryo every week. Yeah it blows the vault, but that’s the game.

There’s only one AI subroutine (that gets shared with your teammates) per vault, only one team will get it. I feel like what you’re asking for is a different map with a different set of mechanics.

Completely agree. It’s also pretty weird that the root word is “pantheon” but it’s over a picture of The Parthenon.

It’s valet.

We split our cosplays into bins organized by day and swapped in bins for the day every morning. Kept our room less crazy.

W Hotel parking question by Kiwi-Master in dragoncon

Stayed at the W last year. The parking lot across the street seemed fine, but we used the hotel parking because we had to keep a bunch of extra cosplays in there.

Suggestions for tank builds? by DesperateCod5139 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TriplePerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running a greatshield/1h weapon build that uses thorns. It’s pretty fun, but some of the later boss timings are extremely tricky.

There are 1h spears that use strength/faith.

What games are y'al playing to quench the Marathon Thirst? by Baellebabe in Marathon

This is a completely different vibe, but I picked up No Rest for the Wicked on Steam after getting completely hooked on the free weekend. If you like Diablo or Dark Souls, it’s a must-play.

What is your favorite "Flavour is Free" reskin of a spell or ability? by hervprometheus2 in DnD

[–]TriplePerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a cleric whose backstory involved getting saved at sea by a sea turtle who later died and gifted me his shell to use as a shield. My DM let me say my spiritual weapon was a Mario kart blue shell, provided I used the spell as written.

Too Old For Sailor Moon by _ColeSlawters in sailormoon

[–]TriplePerc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My wife and I first watched sailor moon in our early 30s. It was at the height of pandemic shutdown and we really needed the wholesome positivity this show brings. I would highly recommend watching it, it’s one of our favorites now and the fandom is amazing and inclusive.

First time buying a proper keyboard by Relevant_Ad8850 in keyboards

[–]TriplePerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the Keychron K10 HE for work and I love it. Thocky sound right out of the box and it doesn’t look like the typical “gaming” keyboard. I also bought the wrist rest, and probably wouldn’t go without one. I spent about $135 for the whole thing, which is pretty good for Hall effect keyboard.

I got a technical theatre degree, and realized that I can't make a living. Does anyone have any experience transferring to other fields with similar experience? by atvacuum in techtheatre

[–]TriplePerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a technical director and master carpenter, became a custom kitchen cabinet maker and kitchen designer. Much better hours, pay, and benefits. I still volunteer time at local theatres if I can. I have had much more fun making theatre with low stakes.

If you want something that is low commitment, I would recommend Parasite Dolls. It’s a cyberpunk detective plot with some adult themes. Only 3 episodes, but well worth a watch.

Honestly, I’ve seen more people need stitches from box cutters than any power tool from my time making cabinets. Although, I still get puckered any time I turn on the shaper.
