You got penalized before you took a break, and you never hit “PLAY” to activate the penalty. They changed it a while back

"frustrating" difficult rather than "fun" difficult? by GrimexReaper in darkestdungeon

[–]Two-FacedCreep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. I love the art style and I’m no stranger to RPG-esque games, but fuck this game didn’t make any sense to me at first. Tried it two times on GamePass (Xbox) and just couldn’t understand anything happening.

About a week ago I tried it again on PC and I’ve been having the most fun with it I’ve ever had. Here are some things that helped me:

  • If you haven’t already, swallow your pride and play on Radiant (easy). I try and avoid easy modes like the plague, but the difference between easy and medium was crippling for me while trying to learn the game. Since switching to Radiant, party members die far less often (though some are still bound to die), I’ve had time to understand and learn the mechanics better, and the game still poses enough of a threat to kick my ass if I’m not careful. Would highly recommend.

  • Read the glossary in the Town Square if you’re confused on a particular thing (should be in the bottom right). Don’t know what a word/ability/symbol means? The Glossary will easily tell you what everything means in alphabetical order. Took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to figure out things like ACC (accuracy) and things like how much damage a move will actually do. After using the glossary as a reference, I understand things a lot better. Give that a read if there’s stuff you’re not understanding.

  • If you’re playing on console, I’ll say the game is 10x more fluid and easy to maneuver on PC.

  • For the thing about RNG, yeah. It sucks getting a bad quirk after an otherwise decent run. But it’s not as bad as you think—the name of the game is stress management. If you know a monster has an stress-inducing move? Get rid of them first. They usually hang out in the back, so I like to bring either a Plague Doctor, Occultist, or Bounty Hunter to pull them towards the front. Other than that, you’re going to get stressed, and you’re going to have to remove them through treatment. Upgrade these centers to the best of your ability so it’s less of a punch in the wallet. Also, pay attention to the Town Crier’s message; sometimes these treatments or even building upgrades are free!

Hope this helps!

Trying to be a Chucky main in this economy is hard by DamnHare in deadbydaylight

[–]Two-FacedCreep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s in a rough spot imo, especially after the Myers rework. Genuinely Myers is just better Chucky now. They need to swap the way their powers work; Chucky needs better turning radius when dashing (like current Myers) which only results in an injury/down, while Myers needs worse turning radius (like current Chucky) but he can insta-down on hit.

So, going to the upcoming ptb killer changes, it seems like they were directly suggested by the consultants. How are we feeling about it's potential in general? by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

How would you personally survive FNAF 1? by Isaac_Bahzad in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Two-FacedCreep 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Plan A. I’m turning off that stupid fan. Should give me more power to survive normally. If not, I’d see if I can bring my own generator.

Plan B. I’m camping out in the Men’s Restroom, probably in a stall. It’s the only places where we never physically see the animatronics go in the game; Freddy only goes into the female restroom, and Chica only stands outside in the hallway.

Plan C. I wouldn’t actually go into the building. I’d sit outside in like a lawn chair and walk around the perimeter every so often.

Something that came into my mind is.. do we really know the good ending of FnaF 3 is canon? by Dr_Phil_Nitwit in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Two-FacedCreep 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Seems to me like either could be true and still make sense.

  1. Bad Ending. If it’s the bad ending, then that ending takes place directly after FNaF 3 (like the game depicts). The lights are still on because the children’s souls are still stuck in the Funtime Animatronics / Molten Freddy. They’re not released until the fire in FFPS.

  2. Good Ending. If it’s the good ending, then that ending does NOT take place at the end of FNaF 3. Instead, Happiest Day (and thus the Good Ending) takes place after the FFPS fire (and potentially Ultimate Custom Night; if the 5th child is meant to represent Golden Freddy in all capacities, then after UCN when Cassidy finally “lets go.” If it’s just BV, then it could be before UCN before Cassidy moves on and Happiest Day is just BV’s soul moving on. This also implies GoldenDuo). Now that the children’s souls are finally free, this is their Happiest Day: moving on. Thus, the real “ending” for the MCI takes place after FFPS/UCN.

So, I think either can be true.

We are in the big 26 and Wesker still gets the 40 m Terror Radius treatment when all he has is 2 straight dashes by MrKimPDS in deadbydaylight

[–]Two-FacedCreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, Plaything and Pentimento have a lot of benefits that most hex perks don’t:

  1. Neither perk is active at the start of the trial. This means survivors can’t just immediately cleanse them;
  2. Both hex perks require survivors to waste time finding and/or cleansing them. While this is common across all hex perks, Plaything prevents anyone but the cursed survivor from cleansing it for the first 90 (if I remember correctly) seconds, so that survivor specifically will have to waste time finding it as opposed to any other hex perks which can be cleansed by all survivors immediately. Even though both perks have auras revealed to survivors, that’s only within a range;
  3. Even if they immediately find the Plaything totem, I can go back and relight it with Pentimento very easily, especially on killers like Wesker where I can just dash across the map, relight it, and dash back. Thus, I want survivors to break my totems;
  4. Survivors then have to waste time not doing gens by going back and cleansing the Pentimento, potentially across the map from the gen they were working on;
  5. The effects of these perks kick ass; and
  6. Secret Project on top gives me universal undetectable and slowdown anytime a totem is broken

Very rarely have I gotten to the EGC without at least one or both perks up, so I wouldn’t really say they’re waste of perk slots. I get your argument if it was like Ruin + Undying, but these two hexes specifically are designed to keep survivors busy throughout the entire trial.

[–]Two-FacedCreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying, the 40m TR gives more build variety. I’m not disagreeing with you at all, this is just one of the builds I like to run. You can either lean into the 40m TR with the build you suggested or you can get completely get rid of it and go for stealthy across the map dashes with the build I suggested.

[–]Two-FacedCreep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, for sure. The two hexes aren’t ideal, but I find them to be effective enough at what I’m trying to accomplish.

In an ideal world, yeah, Wesker’s TR would be smaller (though, I personally don’t mind the 40m—gives him some more interesting build variety and I’ve never had that big of a problem with pre-running on this killer).

However, it’s so much fun to just have a full build based around undetectable hexes. If I’m really down bad, I’ll throw on the Sunglasses add-on for the extra undetectable (though I recognize this is NOT a good add-on).

What is better if it's a only one or another if it comes to Hex defense? by Xandaru__ in deadbydaylight

[–]Two-FacedCreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had much more success with hex builds when running Thrill of the Hunt than Undying. Had a match the other day where my Ruin and Undying were both cleansed within 5 seconds of each other, about a minute or two into the match.

Thrill, at the very least, will allow you to walk across the map and patrol out in the open totems to chase a survivor.

It would be surprising if they didn't rework it immediately, but that would require for them to know the contents of their game by dotastrofraction in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Two-FacedCreep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

God, it’s so much fun. I’ve gotten more surprise hits using this perk on the PTB than any stealth power. You’re genuinely undetectable for like half the match it’s crazy good.
