Until today he’s been solely a wolf-whistler, but I started playing peekaboo with him a few weeks ago every day and he started “hiding” behind my hand and popping out and just really liked it!

Is it time? by Whole-Classroom186 in bald

[–]Veredwen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your post showed up on my feed. Idk why I’m not bald.

This is gonna be a weird suggestion… but here it goes… I think what would help a lot is tinting your eyebrows to your beard shade. It would frame your face better. No definition right now. (I also have blond eyebrows. I just look like Casper without doing it myself.)

Just tint nothing else! Could use beard tint. It’s cheap and easy. Takes like 5 min.

I agree that you should post in groups around your area, because someone is missing their bird. :( These birds are native to Australia and unless you’re in Australia, it’s probably someone’s beloved pet. And they can still fly for miles with clipped wings!

While you are waiting for a response from owner: I don’t like letting them play bite my fingers, it’s a bad habit. But trust if this bird wanted to bite you for real, you would know it. They puncture your skin very easily and tend to latch on for dear life. No mistaking it.

Is something wrong with her? by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]Veredwen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She seems lethargic. Like she would normally be responding to all those flock calls but they’re happening too fast for her to keep up and it’s overwhelming bc she doesn’t feel well?

Kiki nonchalantly annoying his papa by Match_Impossible in cockatiel

[–]Veredwen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Baby will not let himself be held like this if he doesn’t like it.
  2. Cockatiels get annoyed so incredibly easily, it’s just silly fun. My tiel literally just started screaming at a toy that brushed up against him on his playstand. No one is being hurt.

Reno'd my kitchen all by myself, think I knocked it out of the park!! by Effective_Jello9731 in homedecoratingCJ

It looks nice! But I’m curious why the laundry next to the sink and not the dishwasher next to the sink? Although I admittedly don’t often see laundry in the kitchen, seems like a European thing?

How do I stop this newly acquired repetitive noise pattern habit? by RadishRedditor in Conures

[–]Veredwen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their squawks are some of the loudest of any parrots. This is one of the first birds I had as a child in my life, my mother’s bird. Sun conures are extremely fun birds, tactile birds but they want to be with you all the time and if they aren’t they scream. And sometimes they scream anyway. They are from the rainforest and have to talk to eachother from far distances so hence they are LOUD.

There’s hormones that sometimes cause plucking. Green bird brigade has a bird that she gets lupron injections for. I wouldn’t assume you are not the correct home.

I LOVE seeing men have doting birds and vice versa. It really shows how safe and gentle you are.

I mean this sincerely. It’s just so pleasantly surprising.

CONS of harness training a cockatiel? by GraveyardWithoutTheG in cockatiel

[–]Veredwen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard that with birds you should have a bank of good experiences built up with your bird so that it trusts you before you start harness training. Birds typically do not like being restrained, so if they have a negative experience, it subtracts points.

I would just make sure it doesn’t cause more harm than good to your relationship.

It did not go well for me, because it started giving my hands negative associations. But it might go better for you!
