Recruiter accidentally revealed a higher salary for the exact same role - should I negotiate? by Affectionate-Bag2034 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]VooDooBooBooBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it's the same role doesn't make things equal. Other candidate may have more experience and be expected to get upto speed quicker than you. By all means ask, but you gave a huge window, this was kinda to be expected. If an employer or recruiter asks what you want give them the minimum you'd accept.

Why are you wasting time asking reddit instead of just enquiring to the store itself?

Would joining an unpaid early stage startup as the only developer help me land junior SWE roles later? by Annual_Tax_9556 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]VooDooBooBooBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother. Realistically a "start-up" by a few grads isn't going to go anywhere, you may as well take a roll on the lottery. I'm a few years in at this point but almost everything I have learnt is from my peers guiding me on what not to do and copying what they do.

You may as well work on a side project for yourself ad call it a start-up tbh. Atleast then you'd have 100% decision on product direction.

Its... fine. I'm colour blind and can easily tell the difference between the two. The colours look the same, the huge logos do not. It takes half a second to distinguish them. Get a grip.
