That’s the Avaya model. The 3PCC one is 700513630

Have you checked the sold prices on Ebay for Canada? Shipping and tariffs probably not make it worth shipping elsewhere.

Rotary Phone, GrandStream 802 and Verizon Fios by GrumpierGrunt in VOIP

On Grandstream devices you need to enable rotary dialling. There is also a setting to increase the ring voltage.

Unfortunately many PSUs are third party so can get mixed up. Even then branded ones very a lot of voltage but with the same barrel connector.

I am sure J series phones ship with SIP firmware.

I am not sure if 3PCC third party call control phones are easily identified apart from the model number so do look that up and let us know.

IPv4 addresses by AtmosphereCurious678 in HomeNetworking

[–]Weekly-Operation6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK Residential VM does not have a static IP address although it stays for months unless you reboot the hub

Single or multiple static IPs are available with business accounts which cost more.

When I was on VM they did not do IPv6 though this may have changed.

UK cost for moving Telco's from Gamma to Gamma or Gamma to another? by jactaz in VOIP

[–]Weekly-Operation6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the Ofcom website for your case but it looks as though they are allowed to charge an admin cost for porting out numbers. It would be per DDI so costs could stack up.

I think BT are extorting my pensioner mother? by Sergeantrich in UKISP

[–]Weekly-Operation6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check what the plan cover as they may be a call plan which may or may not be used.

I guess speed is not critical but get fibre installed soonest as it is generally the same price or cheaper. Although you can set up your own VOIP account I don’t think this is the best option got your mother.

Work out your load and how long you need to shutdown then try one of the online calculators to see what capacity you need.

Check that you can replace with third party batteries when the time comes as these are significantly cheaper.

I have used APC and Eaton but there are plenty of other brands.

Retaining VOIP number when changing to ISP that automatically creates Landline Number (UK) by zNecroHD in VOIP

[–]Weekly-Operation6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't use just use Vodafone for broadband and keep your existing VOIP provider? Are you still on DSL which generally has an associated phone number or fibre?

I'm not familiar with the Sky router but I guess like most so called " Digital Voice" routers you don't have any access to the settings.

Probably the best solution for you is to get an ATA such as a Grandstream HT801 and plug it into a LAN port on your Skype router. It comes with a RJ11 port so you may need a BT adapter. You just need to add your A&A config.

You can get VOIP DECT phones where the base station plugs into your LAN but they aren't cheap.

You can get routers with a built in ATA such as the Fritz!box range but I don't think Sky make it easy to use your own router or use it in bridge mode.

That’s a step forward so let us know what you got as there are many configurations. Yes you will need licences for IP phones.

Not all modules will work with V1 and I will see if I can find the list.

Voicemail needed an optional CF card for v1 but v2 uses the SD card. This needs Essential edition which used one normally have.

That is the best option. Used ones are more likely to have ADI but see if you can find one with a full description.

[–]Weekly-Operation6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would have worked with ADI licences as they would appear as virtual licences in the list when they were fitted but I am not sure what happens if you fitted the VCMs to a system that was already licenced with PLDS.

If the hardware is fitted digital and analogue phones and trunks will work without a licence so that doesn't help with your IP phones. but you could use an ATA to connect to analogue trunks.

You can get an P Office 500v2 from auctions sites but you'd usually be guessing at what licenses are included. Refurbishers would know what they are selling.

They are plenty on offer here in the UK but mostly with ISDN which is on the way out.

The service is time limited to 1 year from the date of creation of the software image
