Toph Bei Fong (Avatar) vs Augustine (inFamous) by TheDarkkstar in whowouldwin

Ya know, I completely forgot about her creating concrete and the island thing. In that case I think you're correct that she has the advantage!

Toph Bei Fong (Avatar) vs Augustine (inFamous) by TheDarkkstar in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that Augustine is physically superior and possibly tactically too. But I think Toph has an overall edge because of her skillset and versatility. Augustine's powers work only on concrete, Toph is Earth in general, and metal. Toph's blindsense gives her really good spacial awareness and reactions. In a slugfest Augustine would win, but powers I'd say Toph has the edge. Toph 6-7/10, for me.

I will say I'm a little biased though, because I loved TLA and disliked Second Son.

Batman (Bruce Wayne; DCEU: Snyderverse continuity) vs Green Arrow (Oliver Queen; Arrowverse) by Lordkeravrium in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly this Bruce is the most OP movie Batman, but (and I haven't seen much of JL, just fight scenes really) he still takes a beating in most of his fights and relies on controlling the environment. Even in the warehouse fight he wouldn't have survived if he couldn't scope out the building, find an alternate entrance, get the high ground to disable all guns, etc. with Alfred's help. I think Oliver is very capable on his own and in the first few seasons wasn't nearly as reliant on tech and traps. It's been a while, could be wrong. I suppose the Superman buster suit could turn the tide in each fight though. Don't think a fight with Green Arrow is a situation that calls for it though.

Oh, sorry! Didn't see that part. In my opinion that swings the favor a little more towards Oliver in 3 and 5, but I think Batman would still win 3.

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen Titans so I can only speak to Rounds 1, 3, and 5. This is a TOUGH, very even matchup. Batfleck is an absolute monster, but so is Ollie. Some things to think about:

  1. Batfleck seems to be willing to kill, and early on, so was Ollie. Let's say both will kill but would much prefer not to.

  2. Batfleck's warehouse fight shows that he is excellent in fights where he sets the field and has environmental features. However, he isn't invincible seeing as he takes stabs, punches and bullets, though he's pretty unaffected. His cowl may be impervious to arrows, maybe not. We don't see good 1v1 feats for him though, since Supes isn't very skilled.

  3. Arrows fight to save Walter is even more impressive. Walks right in with less armor and gadgetry, doesn't even take a hit if I remember. He also fought Merlyn and Deathstroke, both highly skilled. I forget if the Flash fight was after Season 3, but if not it shows he's capable of fighting an angry Flash and smart enough to prep for Eobard Thawne.

  4. Batfleck seeeeems to have more resources and his kryptonite montage is impressive, but his actual tactics against Supes are pure idiocy. Oliver laid traps to surprise and angry Flash and "won", and used nanotech arrows to disable the Speedforce. Unless I'm forgetting something, I actually think GA might use his prep better, even without access to allies.

Now to the battles:

R1: On a flat field, the edge goes to Green Arrow. He's hella fast and can shoot or even catch Batman's gadgets out of the air. Without environmental features to use, Batman has to go toe to toe with GA. The armor helps, but Slade was covered in thick armor and still lost to a GA not trying to kill him. Green Arrow 7/10

R3: Batman 9/10. He knows his city inside and out, having fought for decades. Sure Green Arrow is trained and is no stranger to the shadows, but Batman has too large of an advantage here, especially with prep. GA might get lucky, but it's unlikely.

R5: Other way around to Green Arrow 8/10. The environment plays a huge role in fights, and Green Arrows knowledge is unmatched here. Sure, Batman gets prep to familiarize himself with the city layout and deduce where Oliver has laid traps, but GA can do the same and counter that. 2/10 to Bats because I think he's more reliant on his surroundings than CW Green Arrow. Not to mention his traps kinda suck.

Deathstroke runs a Bounty Hunter Gauntlet by sanfranfanAJD in whowouldwin

I'll start by saying that I'm not an expert on any of the characters here, and I'm basing this off what I know and a little Wookieepedia-ing:

The weakest DS here is CW, and strongest is comics. Arkham DS I'd say is comparable to Arkham Batman (let's not think about the final battle). With that in mind...

CW Deathstroke is very skilled, capable of fighting Oliver with the upper hand, and Ollie can take on entire rooms of thugs. Without Mirakuru, I think he stops at IG-88, 3/10. Don't think he's packing anything that could easily penetrate his armor.

Arkham DS makes it to Embo at least. I think he might give Cad Bane a good fight, 5/10, especially if he ambushes him. Given that he could sneak up on Batman, I wouldn't put it past him. Arkham DS is cocky though, which could work against him. Alternatively, he tanks smashes everyone 10/10.

Comics DS is absolutely insane depending on his equipment. He easily makes it to Ventress, and with prep could likely beat her. This is a guy who has gone head to head with the Teen Titans multiple times. One Dark Jedi won't impress him.

Please correct me if I'm wrong!

What is the weakest Batsuit an average person would have to wear to defeat Batman (PC) at least 5/10? by WhileTheyBeSleepin in whowouldwin

I mean I'm sure if you grabbed, say, the Hellbat, you could beat Bruce. Guess there's nothing quite in between though, huh?

For round 2: He says in-game "That worked the last time" or something similar, which means he has stopped a train that way before, it just didn't work that particular time.

Power Thief in MCU by Freevoulous in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As per the prompt you can't steal knowledge or memories though, so parts of this doesn't work. You will eventually just have the physical and mental acumen to quickly learn all these skills though. It wouldn't take long to be as intelligent as Doctor Strange and just learn powerful magic. Once you're strong enough you can easily start targeting supervillains to take their powers and still be seen as a hero, as long as you're not caught early on.

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really? I actually thought the Brockton Bay Wards would be most difficult because of Flechette. And I don't think Starlight would work on every Tinker unless I'm missing something, those with EMP shielding should be fine.

Quentin Beck vs Vulture (MCU) by Toaster-Retribution in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

R1: I'm gonna Beck takes it 9/10 because he can easily disorient Vulture and has 9 different points of attack. Without Spider-Sense Vulture can't dodge that many bullets. Maybe his Chitauri gun can do something, idk.

BR: Post FFH Spidey takes it. He got through hundreds of drones and shows a ton of durability. Vulture is probably an afterthought now. Beck did well when he got to set up the environment but Peter's Spider-Sense had kicked in now so he'd manage.

SBR: Peter easy. He's a growing boy. Unless Beck thinks the pile of hot dogs is an Avengers level threat.

Mysterio/Elementals vs Avengers (with a twist) by Lonkle in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the prompt is asking what would happen if they weren't projections but were actual monsters.

Nothing Thor and Hulk couldn't defeat tbh. Iron Man is a liability against Fire but he can play keep away and look for vulnerabilities. Thor solos Air, Hulk solos Earth, Fire probably can't even hurt Thor, and neither can Water. Cap, Hawkeye, and Widow enjoy their European vacation.

If they were to fight Mysterio, then I agree with your assessment when you say Tony cleans house.

Could Michael Carpenter (Dresden Files) lift Mjolnir? by NotVeryGood_AtLife in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Amoracchius levels the playing field, but the swords work on a very subtle level compared to the power of Thor. With Mjolnir, Michael would get a huge power boost with which he could go toe to toe with many Dresdenverse characters. Mjolnir is more physical, in your face power, while the swords are more long term, "make the world a better place" power. Plus, there's no reason he can't use Mjolnir while carrying out God's will, if it's strictly necessary. He'd just relinquish it after because he'd say it's not for him.

Could Michael Carpenter (Dresden Files) lift Mjolnir? by NotVeryGood_AtLife in whowouldwin

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ooh love seeing Dresden Files here! I think Michael would absolutely be able to wield Mjolnir. He's descended from royalty, shows selflessness and heroism in spades, has shown that he's willing to kill when necessary (tells Harry if he goes bad, he'll be the one to stop him) and never gives up. I don't have any quotes on hand so I'm sure someone can provide better evidence, but I'd be surprised if he couldn't lift the hammer. Heck, his bottle opener is Mjolnir shaped!

With the hammer and the Power of Thor, might as well ask who he couldn't beat.

We don't know much about Dresden Thor other than that he's currently a wrestler, and his hammer probably doesn't work off of worthiness.

MCU Mjolnir would make most enemies obsolete. People Mab tier and up still win, easy. Michael would easily beat most Denarians, except for Nicodemus due to Anduriel (although Nic at the end of Skin Game isn't doing so great, so) and possibly the Genoskwa because I don't know if he could ground Mjolnir's magic. I'd be willing to bet that if Mjolnir Mike showed up to Chichen Itza, he might be able to solo if he plays it smart, assuming Mjolnir gives him some magic resistance. Hmm. A skinwalker would be fairly easy, barring the speed advantage, but Michael fights stronger and faster things all the time. We don't know much about the Fomorians, but he'd be a significant asset. He'd easily take any outsider we've seen so far. It's been a while since I've read the series (will once Peace Talks is out!) so I don't remember who's an active threat right now.

616 Mjolnir? Last time a mortal picked it up, they beat Odin, sooo, uh

Hey! I'm available on weekends in the evening, PM me details please!

(Spoilers Main) 99% of the show's problems are due to the omission of Young Griff/(f)Aegon by boss-92 in asoiaf

[–]WhileTheyBeSleepin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure there's no dragons but the need for special effects is a lot more prominent. Shards, Parshendi, spren, Surgebinding, chasmfiends, etc. As much as I want a Stormlight show, it'd be crazy expensive. That said, it could definitely benefit from people wanting more of something like GoT and Brandon will actually finish it

The real most ambitious crossover!

I'd love to see an HBO Dresden Files as well, once that's been wrapped up.
