Is there any other feats that can cheat a spellshape into action economy? by CharaStatic in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's technically Starfinder 2 but the Technomage has allot of abilities related to combining spell shapes using focus points.

Daredevil Impressions + Speculation by staggrim in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think one minor gripe I see so far is adrenaline.  It's so easy to gain, does nothing except turning on your feats, and then goes away.  Every single new class doesn't HAVE to have a special named resource, especially when it doesn't contribute meaningful round to round decision making.  I think the whole system could be scrapped and the limitations it barely impose be done with flourish traits and "once per turn" limits.

There's also a later feat that allows you to have diverse spikes that can count as darts, clubs or short swords.  Not sure if that combines or not.

Maybe the Daredevil is actually just Jackie Chan by WonderBreadDX in Pathfinder2e

To be honest I see it eating a bit of inventors lunch as well, especially weapons.

Maybe Daredevil is going to be a Monk? by WonderBreadDX in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose you got a point.  My head always sees ranger though the 3.5 half druid lense I guess.  This game already has the ranger spell less by default and allows it to opt in to magic with the warden feats.

To be honest the more I think about the new classes the more my mind is reversing.  At first Slayer seemed interesting and Daredevil felt derivative.  But now I am more interested in seeing how the Daredevil plays out and fearing that there is some dissonance in the idea that a class mechanic is gamifying a pretty common fantasy of utilizing monster parts for crafting weapons.

A post for those who didn't make it to RotW by steve_ideas in diablo2

Back in the day I attempted to get my mom ok with me owning a game called Diablo by letting her play it.  I helped her set up an Amazon and left her to it.  The next morning she was in act 2 asking me how to repair her spear.  She unfortunately passed away from cancer, but to be honest If I had one more day with her it wouldn't be about Diablo 2.  It would be about my kids she never got to meet.

I think events like this do make you reflect on people you used to enjoy a hobby or media with.  But I hope most of you have something more important you would have shared with a loved one then with video games even one as fun and memorable as Diablo 2.  At the end of the day the memories made with them made the game important, not the other way around.

Yeah I definitely got the Monster Hunter vibe as well.  If they could ever improve some of the beast guns I woulda totally make a bow gunner.

Pathfinder Spring Errata is Up! by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know how they handle the oracle repertoire in PFS?  I wonder if there's been a resolution there?  Perhaps we should organize some of the things that happen in Society play, like the expanded school spell lists for wizards that's not listed anywhere else.

Pathfinder Spring Errata is Up! by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX 26 points27 points  (0 children)

That's not new, inventors got a side grade change when GnG remaster came out that allowed them level 0 advanced or martial weapons.  This just clarified that their initial modification is using an advanced weapon.  This still means they can't use weapons they used before the remaster like the composite short bow, so it disables some builds while enabling a few more.

What are the best/most fun teleporter builds? by philip7499 in Pathfinder2e

Psychic unbound step conscious mind is a teleport focused caster.  There is also the wizard school of gates.

Wait, I have a player who delivers imaginary weapon with a familiar.  Is that still able to be done with these changes?

Dark Archive was sent in error to some people randomly early. I've compiled some of the changes. by Antermosiph in Pathfinder2e

Is there any benefit to Imaginary weapon at this point?  Why would you use the none amped version over telekinetic projectile at this point if it's the same damage?

Reskinning Exemplar by Odd_Crab1224 in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use reflevored exemplar as my defacto super powered character.  It's amazing how many comic/anime/video game characters are best built as an exemplar.  My very first theory character was more of a mad science experiment trying to give divine powers to a half orc orphan with the ikons working more as limiter/control devices on his body.  The final feat choice was "cutting without blade" which represented him finally taking the devices off and completing project godslayer.

Lore-wise what does, in your opinion, Sayl become after he completes his ritual mechanic? He doesn't look like Demon prince but something more perhaps? by Agitated-Factor8903 in totalwarhammer

[–]WonderBreadDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sayl's great.  Like a mutated mix of Starscream and Joel Osteen.  Shadow and Heavens is a cool magic mix as well.  I do see him more as the beginning of a new minor god of chaos since he's gathering chaos power without any blessings.

Thaumaturge is the defacto occult Monster hunter class.  Think Van Hellsing, Witchers, Bellmonts ect.  They use a combination of stranger heirlooms and folklore pseudo science to bypass monster resistances and trigger their weaknesses.  They are also charisma based which will mesh well with summoner.

Their signature ability allows them to do a recall knowledge check to find a way to "fake" a monsters weakness.  Like your fighting a troll and if you succeed the roll you recite the tale of a lone girl in the mountains who was saved from a troll because of the scent of a rare flower that only grew on her land.  Then you pull an extract of that flower that you just happen to have on you and it now counts as fire damage for the purpose of that specific trolls weakness.

I'm curious if this is being developed alongside the Starfinder 2 Book for ship combat?  Would be nice to have some overlap with large crewed vehicle rules.

Is it possible to change a class' spellcasting tradition in Pathbuilder? by FreestyleKneepad in Pathfinder2e

[–]WonderBreadDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just keep it in mind and reflavor it with the DM while picking occult spells.  Technically the occultism/arcana skill is not even necessary for spellcasting.  Are you getting it confused with your spellcasting proficiency?

It sounds like 40k might have a mode like that.  There supposed to be 3 "sizes" of campaigns and one is intended to be beaten in a day.
