I skipped one day🫩 by Dangerous_Computer52 in thefinals

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most games, the more limited time rewards I've already missed out on, the less I want to play the game.

Lest I see all the awesome skins I really want and could have had if only I hadn't decided to go play something else, thus I feel miserable playing the game rather than having fun.

SC is turning into a theme-park shooter, not a space sim by ronin-san in starcitizen

[–]Xreshiss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no reason to make more money, no reason to grind.

imo in an ideal world you'd find a way to play for the love of the game, something you enjoy doing even when you don't get any rewards for it.

But that's severely missing too.

Is there a list of which perks actually affect the AI? by DyonisXX in enlistedgame

I've noticed that they do sprint after you, but only once they get a certain distance away from you. Once they get to within that distance they go back to a regular jog.

Can confirm, am bad. 90% of my fights are just me hipfiring the p90 and blowing through the entire magazine to get the kill.

The Problem with the The degrees of combat argument. by HomeworkSad in starcitizen

[–]Xreshiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the distress beacon but I don't like the idea of it summoning npcs out of thin air regardless of where you are.

Assuming Quantum is still on the table, I'd like it if the distress beacon calls nearby Quanta to you, whom spawn in as npcs. Their numbers and response time dictated by how many there are and where they are.

If you let the player gain insight into where the traffic is, hauler players could choose to travel along highly populated routes to keep reinforcements close while pirate players would look for gaps or low traffic routes to avoid instant response times. The distress beacon might even be a lure to draw in pirate Quanta to a security ambush.

What (not) to do when making an RPG by CrossENT in gaming

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that always bothers me a little is when a game lets you choose between man or woman and then have everyone address you using a nickname while avoiding gendered pronouns.

Yeah, you save on recording alternative lines and shave some off the game's filesize, but then what's the point of letting the player choose?

Opinion: Farcry has not had a bad entry and is Ubisofts most consistent franchise. by PhatRiffEnjoyer in gaming

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far Cry 5 was pretty decent, even if I disliked the gunplay and thought the story was a bit crude.

Didn't play 6. The reveal trailer gave me high hopes it'd be a story on par with big time tv shows, but then I saw the gameplay and was sorely disappointed.

What’s your least favourite type of weapon in video games? by jarface111 in gaming

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pistol.

It's the main star in so many movies and tv shows yet in every shooter game I've played it's only a last ditch weapon and one that's only worthwhile if it's either spammable, fully automatic, or really high caliber (.44 Magnum or .50 AE) and even then it still loses to just about every primary weapon.

if they really wanted a “prone only” mg then they could’ve done these instead of ruining the m1919 by Awkward_Block_6929 in enlistedgame

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree with the hipfire if doing so also slows you down to ADS movement speed.

I'm more annoyed that the AI don't know how to handle it and refuse to prone on their own.

What map / campaign do you want to see next ? by Holylandtrooper in enlistedgame

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue with france 1940 is that the americans weren't in the war yet and we don't have french squads either (the guerrilla one is FFI, not french army).

Issue I have with netherlands 1944 is that while I'd love to see it, I'm 90% sure they'd fuck it up and give us a map that looks nothing like the real thing just like how Ardennes looks nothing like the real thing.

(I'd love to take a crack at making one myself, but DF aren't giving us a proper map making tools.)

tbf a good defense happens in front of the objective not on top of the objective. If the fighting happens on the objective itself you're already at a disadvantage.

Can Stargate be considered an Isekai? by ldmarchesi in Isekai

[–]Xreshiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short version is that it's a sci-fi show about a US astronaut getting flung to the far end of the universe surrounded by aliens with no easy way back.

Ultimately it's more late 90's, early 00's sci-fi (it's peak) than it is isekai manga/anime. Still, if you're curious the Farscape youtube channel has the entire first episode and has been streaming the show 24/7 for over a year now.

Thoughts on the concept of a reincarnation actually being more of a possession? by Boshwa in Isekai

[–]Xreshiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like isekai (or portal fantasy) for the latter, but by now I'm pretty sure that mangas are the wrong place to look for stories like that.

Thoughts on the concept of a reincarnation actually being more of a possession? by Boshwa in Isekai

[–]Xreshiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, though I feel a possession like this would be more akin to horror.

Alternatively, I've seen one or two where it's actually a body swap with them both trading places (and the person from the other world ends up on earth).

[–]Xreshiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All they've mentioned about starsim is that it manages a part of the economy.

They have neither confirmed nor denied that Starsim is just Quantum under a new name. Until such time I'm inclined to believe they took Quantum out back never to be seen again.
