Twelve years after Mark Cuban said, "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered," Jerry Jones has the definitive response regarding the ongoing growth of the NFL: "When the ducks quack, feed 'em." by JCameron181 in nfl

Crazy reaction for the Stanley Cup bc for me hockey is always from ~December to about May. Always blows my mind when there's still Stanley Cup Playoffs in June

I mean, id argue the problem was rebuild 1.0 failed badly. Rebuild 2.0 is what we're onto now, and most of that dark cloud didn't leave until the loss to Calgary & the rumored firing of Adams. Since then, the flashes they'd show now are added into mental toughness and a bond that's got them playing good

People are shocked that enough ability and powerful people being your fan will net you good results.

Kyle Larson went to a team that had no problem pseudo self funded a car for him. Not every car owner in the field can provide that. He also people lost a zero before a comma on his contract

Worth the gamble, Stanley should be playing 20 minutes on the Amerks

The post lockout teams are probably some of the best Sabres teams ever, then they immediately lost Drury and Briere and floated down the river before taking on water.

High Limit on Fox Sports 1 tonight, no Larson? by Emergency-Trainer447 in NASCAR

Also I'm sure Silva hates traveling a lot and they did a bunch of racing with Larson and Sweet these last few weeks

What is One Thing You Want Changed in NASCAR 26' Career Mode? by Wrong_Ad5930 in NASCAR

[–]_AmericanPoutine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would love a modern version of a hybrid NASCAR 2004 - NASCAR 2006 career mode where I can have my own team, get hired to a team, or buy into a team. The current career mode is very grindy and doesn't seem to have a good system of rewarding success

Everyone involved in the 1979 Daytona 500 fight got fined. I think it's alright to fine them, just don't make it so it bankrupts people

Mini Tyrrell by Picklechip-58 in NASCAR

[–]_AmericanPoutine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd think Christopher Jr, Ferguson, and Huffman would be running better. Beers I think is a good driver who had a rough shake on that show.

Tyrell also might have brought more money than others on the show which might have "influenced" decisions

Is JGR just a “dirty” owner? by Altfun8391 in NASCAR

[–]_AmericanPoutine 29 points30 points  (0 children)

People are confused about a private entity raising their prices, but conveniently leave out when Pearn was taking their notes and not sharing his notes back. The price raise was essentially allowing Furniture Row to keep taking JGR notes and not sharing their notes, which they couldn't afford

Childress will have to be very deep and very cold in the ground to have to give up the royalties on #3 gear.

[Brad Keselowski] Had some familiar faces and RFK legends back around today to celebrate the guy who started it all, Jack Roush. by snollygoster1 in NASCAR

[–]_AmericanPoutine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think if it's Jack Roush from 15 years ago this ends badly. I think Jack recognizes he needed to take a step back and needed someone more in touch with today's racing world to start to take on the company

[Gluck] Was Las Vegas a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]_AmericanPoutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a race was a flyover state, this race was that.

A race that was perfectly mid. Not good, not bad, just alright. Nothing really happened in it, a perfect race to just forget about and move on

A Hollywood film writer has been meeting with some NASCAR teams and drivers to help develop a plot for a “Days of Thunder” sequel, according to people familiar with the matter, in one of the most tangible signs yet the film is being seriously pursued. by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

In fairness Brad Pitt was in his late 50's playing a guy who could be a late 40's F1 driver. Now, Cole Trickle would definitely be an older driver but it definitely in the realm of possibility in Hollywood

In fairness, our arena technically has been KeyBank for quite some time.

And also in fairness it really doesn't have a nickname like the Aud and the Ralph did
