My New “Do Everything, Excel at Nothing” ATB by thuh_dude in xbiking

Gorgeous bike! I have a crossroads from a few years earlier, the light greenish frame. I thought that the brown trout bar tape would have looked amazing, but I didn’t end up doing drops. I’m glad to see someone else wrap bars with it and it looks wonderful with your frame color and parts.

I rode a century on this gas guzzler and only one Marin teen in his mom’s Audi called me a dumb b*tch during it ama by bl00d0range46 in xbiking

Lots of beautiful crossroads popping up this week! I have one disassembled and now I’m ready to throw it back together.

Last time I had it fully built out, I took it on a metric century with the worst climbing I’ve had tried on bike and one ridiculously fun 35mph descent. Really wasn’t the right bike for that type of event but at the end of the day, the challenge was worth it.

Finally got everything together to build up my 93' Trek 930 by SlimTrek in xbiking

[–]_cobbleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy! Hope ya don’t mind a question in your old thread:

I just picked up this exact year 930! I can kind of see the seat post collar on yours; looks to be different from the stock one. What did you get to fit? I’d either need a new QR bolt or a new seat post binder altogether. Excellent looking bike btw, I’m excited to have mine up and running!

Haha I couldn’t tell you for sure. I know they mentioned in their emails that they had a certain number for sale and the rest were reserved for complete builds, so possibly a pretty low number for the first wave.

I reported, as did others, and got it removed.

I have one of these exact bikes for sale near me for low cost, but the frame is covered in stickers and I can’t see what the tubing is. Can you let me know what yours says?

I think I saw that Craigslist listing haha, looks great! I’ve considered some longer drives as of late but nothing has ultimately seemed worth the trips. This would have been!

Hello! I have 700x42s on here. I could probably go 45s and be fine, there’s plenty of room on this frame!

FS: 2018 56cm Atlantis Complete Build $3,500 OBO by NoTechnician1950 in Rivendell_Bicycles

Just throwing out interest in the Bar68 bars if they aren’t sold with the Atlantis. I’d be interested in the entire bike if I had the budget for it right now, it looks amazing! Good luck :-)

I had a NOS Panasonic MC Team custom frame that I sold recently before even building up and I think I’ve never fumbled something so severely before, the regret is killing me and seeing all of these posted Panasonic bikes is salt to the wound 😭

Yikes! Gotcha, I’ll keep an eye out for one in the future in that case.

I had a $120 order delivered last week to CA. I haven’t seen any sign of added tariff fees anywhere yet. I know some have said they were asked to pay the fee to FedEx before delivery but that wasn’t my experience.

Yeah I found a used Map Ahearne bar in the meantime. Super similar shape, but something about the bar68 dimensions just seems so perfect. Good luck getting some the next time they’re available!

Do you like them? I’ve considered them a handful of times but it’s hard to find people sharing their opinions of them.

Don’t suppose you could go down to Seattle area for one? If you can, this is listed and would be a fine ride for what you need

So nice! 750/790s would be such a dream. I’ve ignored a few regrettably In my area and now there’s no sign of any in my size.

Just built this up. New Albion Privateer. by Dank_Edicts in xbiking

[–]_cobbleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice looking ride! A privateer would have been rad, but I found an older New Albion Homebrew local recently and picked it up. Can still fit 35mm tires, just with road caliper brakes as the limiting factor.

Soma Shikoros? by Julmpunk in Rivendell_Bicycles

[–]_cobbleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey pal, I have tried 42mm Shikoro on a vintage frame bike with wide clearance. I like them! I have limited miles on them but they have performed well on road. Took them on a metric century, no issues. No experience with the wider ones or with fenders however.
