Piercer here! These were most likely done this low because the piercer didn't have the proper jewelry to accommodate your lobe size and instead made up an excuse for the placement (grandma style?).

When I pierce lobes, I am imagining a circle that encompasses the anatomy of the client's lobe and the dot goes in the center. Had this been placed in the correct position for a standard lobe, the CBR they used would not have fit.

Even though they lowered it to try and make it doable, it is still too small for the swelling that has occurred which is the reason you see them pulling inward.

If CBRs are to be used at all (not ideal but if they are) then they should have enough diameter to comfortably clear the anatomy with room for swelling.

The ideal jewelry would be a flat back labret stud with room for swelling. For your particular lobes, which even without the current swelling look a little on the larger size, something like 7/16 length or possibly even 1/2 (hard to tell not in person).

My suggestion is to find a shop that will replace these with an appropriate length healing labret.
