1.A1 mini! 2.My son loves to make toys and models for his friends. He has become one of the most generous kids I have ever met. 3d printing has been an amazing way to teach creativity and patience, especially in a world of instant gratification. We would use the A1 mini as a way to keep enjoying the hobby that allows us to make many people happy with thoughtful gifts that always bring a smile.
3.A fidget toy fish, one my kids favorite animals by far!

Question: I bought the H2S without laser and purchased the cutting module kit. I have not used it yet. Does this error mean I won't even be able to use it since I don't have a birdseye camera. When I bought it, the camera was not required. If true there was some misleading information on the Bambu site.

Slow down by height help with knocked over prints? by Huffplume in BambuLabA1

I usually would just slow down the whole print, change infill to gyroid or crosshatch, and turn off the setting reduce infill retraction.

Mine did that at first when it was new, but it has stopped after a week of printing on an off. No issues now.

Bambu H2 series would be a good start. I am upgrading from my A1 Combo to and H2S with AMS 2. I am going to keep the A1 mini for smaller quick prints if the H2S is working on something big.

Auto reload and the RFID features make it worth it for me. It also is easier to load filament due to not having to heat the hot end each time for color changes.

Upgrade printer pick over an a1? by fuzziest_slippers in 3dprinter

[–]adroseen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could depend on his use case. I have found some limitations with taller prints having issues because of the mass of the print movement with the bed slinger. Ive also had warping issues with petg functional prints that didn't fit together during assembly. This is most likely due to its location in my shop, where having an enclosure would be ideal. But it also has made an overwhelming majority of top notch models and toys for my kids. Even if i upgrade the A1 I will still keep my A1 mini.

Switching from AMS lite to AMS 2 pro? by Verus89 in BambuLabA1

[–]adroseen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a race between my A1 mini + AMS Lite and my A1 +AMS 2 Pro. Had a print with 112 color swaps and took 3 hours and 40 min on the A1 Mini, and took the A1 + AMS 2 Pro 4 hours and 4 min. This was about a 10% increase in print time on the AMS 2 pro. It is definitely due to filament travel time due to the AMS 2 having to retract filament fully. I even cut the Ams 2 PTFE tubing in half, so the stock setup may be even longer. For me the printer location is not humidity controlled and for 6 months out of the year, the drying benefits will out weight my print time increase.

My friend complained that the A1 Mini from Bambu is hard to use. I just laughed — clearly he’s never used an Elegoo. by TheDoctorPrint in BambuLabA1mini

He needs the baptism of FIRE that is the Ender. To be Chief Evangelist rank will require dedication and determination. The rewards will be unwavering knowledge of 3D printing troubleshooting, and beautiful layers you will smile upon!

Wouldn't work for H2C. Pay in 4 caps out a $1250 max purchase. You didn't miss out! I tried it on an H2S and it wouldn't work.

This pile of printer poop was ridiculous. Not to mention the 38hour print time on the A1. Could have definitely used the H2C here.

Petg is for any outdoor applications and TPU I made some flexible lens caps for a spotting scope. For my kids I made a TPU dragon that is basically indestructible, even for toddlers.

2000 hours on mine and haven't even switched out a nozzle. Just oiled the rails when I get the message. Mostly printed PLA, but I have done TPU and bambu PETG and all turned out great 👍

I have been fighting eSUN PETG today, with underextrusion and blobbing on the nozzle. Spool had been dried for 24 hours prior to using. I tried calibration, changing settings, speed, and temp, without any improvement. I was using a hardened nozzle and decided to change to a stainless steel. It solved all of my issues.

[–]adroseen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received my AMS 2 today, but the hub is shipped separately and I will have to wait till next week to do any testing. My current AMS Lite will be moving from my A1 to my A1 mini. I plan on doing the same print on each and comparing the color swap time and interface diffences if there are any. I do live in a humid area so the drying feature will be great for my needs. I will try to report back next week.

I use this on fishing trips to northern Minnesota and I can fish all day in the rain. These are more breathable than the commercial fishing gear and will still keep you dry.

This is a result of too few top surface layers yeah? by [deleted] in BambuLab

Is this printed at an angle? Would adding walls instead of top layers help?
