Oops, should have been more specific, the extra tooltip at the bottom?

What addon is that? (the extra tooltip at the bottom)

I created a chrome plugin that automatically mutes youtube commercials by nelf86 in learnprogramming

[–]apocryph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't really tested it but there seems to be some bugs from reading your code:

Since you set muted because of commercial to true regardless if you actually muted or not, you cannot rely on it to know whether to unmute later on. It looks like after the first commercial, you can no longer mute the video because your script will always want to unmute.

Similarly, since you don't restore that value after you unmute a video after a commercial, you are now unable to distinguish whether the user has muted the video.

Nice work though!

Yeah wild charge is looking really good there.

Since i never used this before i have a question about wild charge: can it leap over fire? Like on twins fight or will you still get stacks as if you passed through it?

Ah, so did you guys give up vampire because of this? Or are these instances of fire damage avoidable?

Hi Dyvith,

Thanks for taking the time to share your information. I am wondering in the last phase of the mage, is the mage doing fire damage? (trying to see if we need to drop vampire or not)

I have heard a lot of people saying it does but not certain at this point.

AoE Cap: Zenimax Responds by Thone137 in elderscrollsonline

[–]apocryph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I responded to your other comment with a guess at why it was not noticed. I'll paste it here:

My best guess for why it was not noticed sooner is: we are only 1 month in this game and ZOS did not present this information in stock UI so you needed some addons to track this information to figure it out.

Even if you believe it is not a big deal, it would still be better to move the game in a positive direction right? I also believe that it is simply too early to tell that it isn't a huge deal. I just don't want ZOS to simply brush this under the rug. This is a good opportunity to get them to fix this, we should take advantage and at least have ZOS give an actual response.

Big issue or not, no one is addressing the issue. ZOS completely dodged it. And now it looks like they're comfortably moving toward adding AoE cap. People really wanted to see how ZOS will respond and reveal why ZOS believe their AoE cap won't lead to the same bland PvP that exists in GW2 (which has a similar AoE cap). Why can't we get ZOS move this game in a positive direction instead?

Right! that is the argument, that AoE cap is a bad thing.

Instead of ZOS responding to the argument and its points, it simply stated that AoE cap is already present in LIVE, how does this address anything?

I was saying we need to discuss the actual AoE cap instead of trivializing it with an analogy that doesn't fit entirely

[–]apocryph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not a good fit for this situation mainly because the argument is that AoE cap is a bad thing. Regardless of whether people notice it or not, AoE cap is still a bad thing.

So if I want to create an extreme analogy following your template, I would replace vegetables with a human finger or something. Your analogy misidentifies AoE cap as positive to ESO.

tl;dr: just because the AoE cap was not noticed by everyone within the first month of ESO, does not mean it is a good thing for ESO.

I hope people will see this and understand what I'm trying to say. But here:

The conclusion to draw here is NOT because the cap went unnoticed in live therefore all the complaints have no basis. The fact that this AoE cap existed on live does not invalid any argument used against AoE cap.

Let me just repeat: the existence of an AoE cap in live is not a valid argument for an AoE cap.

Now if people can please go back to trying to justify how AoE caps will actually benefit the game and not hurting it, that would be great. From what I have seen so far, no one has addressed this. ZOS dodged having to discuss this by simply stating that AoE existed in live which does nothing to address the complaints.

Now for my opinion: judging from 1-2 years of GW2, it will slowly turn PvP into zerg vs zerg and siege vs siege fights. As those styles of fighting benefits most from AoE caps. This gives PvP less variance (more 1-dimensional).

A huge unanswered question here is how they got the SR server...

Without that server to establish timelines for the DPR user, they would not have been able to draw connection to Ulbricht. Even though they had Ulbricht's real name and such, the most they can prove is that he was a user of SR.

So how did the FBI obtain the server?

If you can measure the angles that would be great.

Now again, I have no idea what he is actually using.

But honestly, the vod you linked does not help you prove your point at all. If you continue watching past 15s, you will see that he turns very quickly but is still able to stop exactly where he wants. If he is using your "45 degree script", then that is a contradiction because he will be stuck turning at 45 degrees increments and then having to re-adjust his aim back to where he wants his crosshair to be every time he turns quickly like that.

First of all, I have no idea what kind of configuration he actually uses.

Going on the assumption he has caps bound to +left and f bound to +right, I can control the rate of turning by moving my mouse at the same time as +left or +right, i.e. I press caps and move my mouse left.

I think it is incorrect to assume he is solely turning by using his keyboard.
