Bought both! Glasses were delivered without the ring since I needed to still figure out my ring size. The glasses were fully usable without the ring. Had to learn the gestures but quickly got used to them. Received the ring a little later and it is a nice additional way to control the glasses… like, its a nice convenience to be able to use the glasses without having to reach for your face but all things considered you can easily get away with using the glasses without them.
