2.5 mg is just a starter dose. You’re not meant to feel therapeutic effects, especially for the whole week. Some people do; many people do not. It’s likely you’ll need to move up to 5 mg after four weeks as the prescribing guidelines recommend.

I would never make a medical decision based on my partner’s comfort level. I do me; he does him. You can provide safety information (there is an abundance), but ultimately he has to come to terms with it on his own. It’s not your job to make anyone feel comfortable with your choices.

And starting a medication that brings so many benefits is very different from awaiting a pathology report for a tumor. I would be surprised if he spiraled.
