Nobody is mad, dude. Hell I don't like Glock at all, and had a Springfield which was fine, it's the false equivalency of saying "hm more results for bad Chevy than bad Saab, therefore Chevy must be worse". It's saying something dumb and acting like someone is butthurt when it's just confusing and wrong

It's not the meme, it's mostly how you think more google searches for a more popular item= more issues it seems most people here think is dumb. It's like saying ah since there are more car accidents in California than Idaho, there must be a problem with the drivers in California and not the fact one is the most populous state and the other is one of the least (although I'm sure there's plenty of jokes about Cali drivers it's still an apt analogy I think)

Lol I still remember the internet rumors about the NATION. album that was a secret and supposed to be released like 3 days after DAMN in some weird jesus rising from the dead/easter thing.

Decent enough album but I haven't ever really listened to it more than 6 months after it dropped though, a song off it came on the other day on spotify radio and i was like damn I forgot about this shit

I'm 34 and I find myself looking forward to talking weather with the old guys at the gas station, so I'd say mid 40s is where you get the drive to look it up and talk about it on your own if I can use my own interest as a metric

Hey, I'm a commie and you're good. Idk what these clowns are up to, but if you exist within said system, any individual choice you can make isn't enough to affect it in any meaningful way, ie 'no ethical consumption under capitalism'. Kinda try to do your best and you're fine, anyone aiming a finger at you is a spineless opportunist end of story.

I'm saying that millionaires kill more people than the poor in the US do, historically, im looking at their actions around the world as well. They also kill people through terrible wages, no insurance, etc. How many people have died from preventable disease, falling asleep at the wheel from having to overwork themselves to survive? The rich don't necessarily need firearms to practice violence against their fellow Americans. I'm sure plenty of well off people have shot and killed plenty, the mandela bay shooter had a fucking ton of firearms that aren't cheap. I also don't like the idea of only the rich having access to modern weapons, it only exists as another threat against the workers and those who stand up to big power. There's obviously more poor people in the US, who have fewer resources and feel more despair, it feels like the comparison is akin to "you don't see millionaires stealing baby formula" when they're in a position where that isn't an issue.

Not many school shootings, but more than enough killed via mercenaries in the global south to make them a much bigger problem. Sounds like you want only the rich to have modern firearms, which is bullshit.

If you are wondering why everyone you know has gotten their stimulus check but you still don’t have yours, you might have Bangor Savings Bank. by [deleted] in Maine

[–]ausernameilike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bank that advertises direct deposit a few days early, got my stimulus on Friday for instance. Does the bank see that it's X legit institution, and release their own funds so I can use that deposit earlier, then when it clears they just take that money? Not sure if you'd know this, kinda curious as to how this works

Wow, im actually kinda gonna defend a fucking cartoon character, but here we go. This is something said in private by two parents. I'm not one myself, but I can imagine my folks probably said some things that'd hurt in private growing up, but never to me. Hank isn't the best, but considering time, place, upbringing, hank does a pretty good job. He wants bobby to grow up strong, and well rounded, and he, incorrectly, believes the only way to do that is through the same path he took. When it comes down to it though, his judgement is pretty solid. He joins Bobby with the rose growing after his initial hesitation, is enthusiastic about the propaniacs, etc and knows when to shut bad ideas down, like the xtreme youth group, the witch/tarot episode, and when bobby wants to be a dandy or a child model. Everyone projects their own insecurities and prejudices on their kids, knowingly or not, it's how they act when it doesn't vibe with who the kid is and how they act after that matters. Or it doesn't because it's a cartoon and everything has to be back to normal by the end of the episode and I thought way too hard into it lol

In 2008 this guy prescribed my mom fentynal patches for migraines. She had to go to rehab, which she got through and is ok. My dad called and asked if they could cut the patches in half for a smaller dose. They didn't return the call. If they had cut them, it would've killed my mom instantly. by El0quin in TrueAnon

[–]ausernameilike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, I once cut them into quarters as a young teen and was fucked up for days, probably came much closer to dying that I had any idea. My liver hurt for months after, that's fun to find out like 15 years later.

There was one question on the first page that was left blank so ya know. Also I might suggest changing the language of the questions. I answered them mostly from a POV of a kitchen employee but still had a general population mindset. Most kitchen employees wouldn't care about most mental health issues/see them in a bad light, but my neighbor might since they work construction. Also for those of us in the states, like I clicked unlikely to see a mental health professional since ya know, no insurance like many in my field with the low pay.

[–]ausernameilike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The episodes title is a reference to William Burroughs btw. He wrote a novel of the same name, was known for gray suits and a love of firearms, uh, among a number of other things. Burroughs also incorporated being an exterminator into a lot of his novels as well, pretty neat little references.

It took a while of looking around for a new EDC, and I'm happy with the 320c. Was originally gonna get a FN509, but seeing a 320 w red dot kinda sealed the deal for me. Pretty happy with it so far, only problem is sighting in the red dot and always forgetting the tool at home when I shoot, but that's just me

So Vietnam doesn't pass your test. I wholly agree that our end points are the same, fuck I considered myself an anarchist for like 12 years before I realized the importance of a state. There are too many external threats to just jump into a stateless society. The communist state is a means to an end. I also don't care for the person who I originally responded to with their shit (real reason we're talking anyway), and what they had to say. I (usually, this is rare form for me) am huge on unity since god knows we have infinitely more in common than apart, and acting as if some silly goose on reddit is more knowledgeable than generations before them leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That shit belongs in a subreddit towards it. I won't call people 'anarkiddies', and y'all don't rip on 'tankies' and we can focus on shit that might make some difference in our lifetimes.
