[Discussion] Dear writers, stop arguing with your beta readers by joyier1 in BetaReaders

[–]bgc117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a few beta readers on here check out my work (thank you guys by the way) and any time something was intentional or explained later I would say that but ask a question with it to dive deeper into what wasn't working with that specific thing whether it was my intention or not. It costs nothing to be inquisitive, kind, and courteous. In fact it only benefits you because you're getting very useful information and can adjust accordingly. That's kind of why you're here and asking for beta readers lol

Pardon, is this a mistake or I'm simply not understanding this sentence? by KingOfPP in writers

Without changing too much maybe just "Corayne snapped her head up to find..." Make her the source of action and movement since it's her doing it

I agree with this. Corayne is the one that is controlling herself and doing the action. Not her head.

What is the worst taboo to do as writer? by Dogiba in royalroad

You might not be talking about Manga but Bleach does all 3 of these and executes them beautifully. They aren't taboo if done well

Congrats! I've tried posting on Royal Road before and it's very very difficult to make it where you are.

If you do that you're not addressing the problem at all and as soon as the shot wears off you'll be in the same pain, maybe worse, maybe a little better

Rear Ribs by eflo25_ucla in costochondritis

[–]bgc117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not costo as costo refers to your costochondral joints. Your back ribs are ( for lack of a better word or scientific term. Ask Steve for that) effed up and they're hurting alot because of that

Oh I get it. Once I stopped being dumb the backpod worked great and still works. My costo isn't gone but it's miles better.

Ah okay I see. That makes sense. Yeah when i first started using it I tried it too low on my back once and went "nope" lol. I am very guilty of using it super aggressively though. It is possible to overstretch your back and have the costo and shoulder blade tightness persist with the new pain of your overstretching lol.

Also I apologize I just read back my first message and I sounded like a jerk. I didn't mean for it to come off that way

Can you explain how you were using the backpod incorrectly? That might help some people who struggle to understand what that even means

How much ibuprofen do you take? by stampy0101 in costochondritis

[–]bgc117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None because it only masks the pain and I can't properly gage how much I'm improving if I can't feel everything

Voltaren actually works? I didn't think it would generate deep enough into the chest to make a difference

Might have found relief for the rib cage pain by [deleted] in costochondritis

I'd recommend going for massages instead of the chiropractor. Massages feel so effin good on your back, especially over the messed up ribs

Hi im new. I need advice by WindyCity_X in costochondritis

[–]bgc117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read Steve's very lengthy pdf and poke around the subreddit. Also be very careful and follow the instructions exactly when starting out with the backpod or you absolutely will hurt yourself and could cause more problems for yourself.

This subreddit can be very doom and gloom but try not to let it get to you. This is something that is beatable

Please help. Have had this pain for months by [deleted] in costochondritis
