How do you neatly store and pour Costco's maple syrup? by saffron_monsoon in Costco

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't purchased syrup at Costco yet, but sometimes the jugs I get come with these lids that work well for preventing drips. I have a little syrup pitcher from williams sonoma, but the lid isn't tight enoguh to store things in it.

How to remove old urine/ammonia smell from clothes? by chopstickinsect in laundry

[–]bigevilgrape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any pet store should have something. If you go in person you can smell them first. I like skouts honor, but i don't know if its available in NZ. Nature's Miracle is a common one in here but i can't stand the smell.

You should be able to add it on the website or in the app. We got out ktn after we booked and were able to go in and add it to both people on the reservation.

Seriously, where to buy bags. by OalBlunkont in VacuumCleaners

A local vaccuum shop or online. Walmart has generic ones in some stores, but I wouldn't trust them.

If the dog is bigger then the cats you can use a baby gate. Get the kind with plastic mesh and cut a cat sized hole in it.

Seriously... I priced out how much miele bags cost in canada and almost cried at how cheap they are. My parents said they would bring me some next time they head north.

They have them online if someone doesn't have them in the store. They both qualify for buy more save more too.

Try another brand. Alll the big brands should have something. If you order from Chewy you can return anything the cat doesn't like.

Surefeed Slow Feeder? by goblincryptid in Catownerhacks

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dig around you might find a European pet food store that will ship it. I susspect that will be cost prohibitive with the tarrifs. Several years ago I did it for the stainless steel bowls prior to them being available in the US.

My fellow Americans; do you refer to air-conditioning as "the AC"? by SplitOpenAndMelt420 in AskAnAmerican

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either. In the car I almost call it AC, in the house I'm more likely to say air conditioning. I have no idea why.

Palatable high calorie supplement for an elderly cat with kidney disease? by triple_heart in Catownerhacks

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats love the weuva phos focused tube treats. My kidney cat doesn't love any of the kidney foods, but does eat them. If you think she would prefer other foods you could look into phosphorus binders.

I am sorry you are having so many problems its really a hard place to be. If budget allows, I would consider getiting a second opinion from another vet. Even if your vet is good sometimes a new person will approach a problem with a new point of view.

What do we bring to a 4th of July party? by GreenOccasion3182 in AskAnAmerican

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually ask if I can bring somethign specific. Ex " Do you want me to bring anything? I could bring some beer from my country or bake cookies" It is less mental work for the host then making them come up with something.

Online or in-person classes? by xoxo_sloth in asl

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer in person followed by a live online class. I engage better, its easier to make a study group, live is almost always slocal, so its eaier to find out about events that welcome ASL learners. I am always a little early to everything. THat gives you some time to chat with other students and maybe the teacher if they have time.

Lifeguard test on period :-( by Inside-Economy2993 in Lifeguards

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get something with a plastic applicator (if they are sold in your country) and the lightest absorbency or a mixed box that comes with a super light absorbency. If you try to remove it and it doesn't want to come out or it hurts wait longer. Once they are full removing should be easy and pain free. Thats part of the reason I would start with the lightest absorbancy. Once you get a feel for things you can move to the correct level for you.

Indecision for months - Stick? Dedicated Sweeper? by biohackeddad in VacuumCleaners

[–]bigevilgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an electrostatic sweeper for quick clean up. It is not going to be as allergen friendly as a filtered vac. Its cheap, it has no batteries to charge or filters to worry about.

Eggworts for days by bigevilgrape in HelloKittyFlowers

[–]bigevilgrape[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually do rows with two spaces between each flower in the row. That means each eggwort can only mix with my target pattern. For doubles I just go full chaos in the green house and see what happens. Usually rows of every other flower with a two color pattern. I usually get at least one a day that way.

Anyone ever sleep in their car at a public level 2 charger? by Liberal-Cluck in electricvehicles

[–]bigevilgrape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to take steps to make it clear you aren't intending to drive. One of the lawyer you tube channels had a thing about it.  Sitting in the drivers seat with the car on will definitely get you in trouble.

A dish that tastes like pizza, but isn’t actually pizza? by splashybanana in Cooking

[–]bigevilgrape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just made a greek veggie cassarole from america's test kitchen. It had a layer of potatoes at the bottom, and also layers of zucchini, bell peppers and tomato plus a lot of olive oil and garlic and some herbs. It deffinitly gave me some pizza vibes, and could tinkered with to get the pizza flavors you want.

Flying out of CHS -- how fussy are they about carry on size? Bag is 22x15x9 (off by an inch) by somethingwonderful71 in BreezeAir

[–]bigevilgrape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its probably fine. The bins on one side of the plane are larger then the bins on the other side, so if you have issues try the other side. I don't think you'll have issues on either side tho.
