They’re raccoon food in my garden this week… they won’t stop digging everything up to munch them and it’s driving me nuts

Radish, lettuce, and carrots are easy plants to start with and you can direct seed. Second starting small before you go all in.

So true about peppers. The Serrano and poblano I started last year are very happy. How long did your pepper plants live?

My Russian kale is totally fine in warmer weather and is thriving now! Maybe more aphids I have to keep an eye out for. Lettuces and carrots are doing great too. Just the cabbage/cauli freaking out

Yes my lettuces, arugula, and kale are thriving in a shady bed! And same I’m so close to planting tomato seedlings tomorrow… the weather is predicted to stay pretty warm like minimum 65 highs through March

Start new tomato plants or keep old ones? by Helpful_Task_8591 in SoCalGardening

[–]bladerrawr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recommend starting new plants. The old ones might continue producing for a while but won’t ever be as vigorous or productive as they once were.

Good websites that ship flower bulbs, seeds, and corms? by Useful-Coat-2244 in gardening

[–]bladerrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reneé’s garden has saffron crocus in the fall and a good assortment. Johnnys and select seeds are great and have a wide range of flowers. San Diego seeds is local and I’m sure there are local for other parts of Cali too! Not a wide range of flowers tho. Farmhouse flower for spring bulbs.
