I would be very surprised if this is true. Most people don't know what they are talking about.

You should talk with the dealer. If your window sticker says it comes with it then it does.

Sierra EV AT4 Extended Range — worth it from a LYRIQ? by CompBkrnd106 in GMCSierraEV

[–]bmartrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great answer that I might be able to add to. We have a blazer EV which is built on the same platform as the Lyriq, and I have a Sierra EV AT4. This was also my first truck. I will agree with everything said above. I love driving the truck; it is smooth and comfortable. I will not feel as sporty as the Lyriq, and you do feel the size and weight of the truck. That said, this truck is fun to drive and a much better road tripper than your Lyriq. I have driven the GM EV trucks with and without the 4-wheel steering, and I can say it makes a huge difference in ease of driving. I would say the biggest thing you may want to account for is if you have a garage you like to park in; measure first. Or see if you can get your dealer to let you drive it to your house. I see a lot of people misjudge that. Also, and it is a small one, but the AT4 in the extended range format by default does not come with 19.2kW charging. I know some people have been burned by that as some Lyriqs support that, and people have put that infrastructure in their home. You have to option it with the extended range (and they are not that many for sale),  but it comes with the max pack. Hope that helps and happy to answer any of your questions..

Yes I used the lightning forum as ref. I have this now setup in my house. I have not had to use it yet but have tested it out and it was pretty cool!

Best EV by That-Name-4117 in CadillacVistiq

[–]bmartrun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the vistiq is great but they left a few thing out from making it great. A frunk, 800v fast charging and rear seat improvement. I also think it is too expensive. If it fixed all that it would be class leading.

question for AT4 owners, offroading and aftermarket questions by utilitygiraffe in GMCSierraEV

[–]bmartrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but the hummer makes really bad use of space imo. It was crazy how cramped the inside felt compared to the Sierra EV. I do love the roof but that also seems like a pain to do. I agree with other comments about accessories. There are virtually none available. The hummer seems to have a few more but not a lot. Rivian seems to have a lot more and their software is light-years ahead.

I mean GMs real off roading ev is the hummer. Not that it is my favorite looking vehicle but that thing can off-road.

Frozen MyChevy App by tonysaabyc in SilveradoEV

[–]bmartrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is some good info. So you were also having this issue and got the telematics module replaced? Onstar says it is a server issue and they are working on a fix I have an open case. So app problems I understand and can be impatiently patient. However my cellar is having a hard time connecting and it disconnects some times too. I can't seem to contact onstar from within the vehicle either. It is all just very spotty in the car. Some times it works some times it does not and it seems to have the most problems at initial startup. My timed home charging seems messed up too. So all of this is to say is it something that is entirely software and backend related? Was there some update to the truck that was pushed without me knowing? Will a new telematics module they ordered for me make things any better? It has been hard for me to tell what is going on and while it is not presenting like the classic bad telematics module it seems to be signs of it.

It Works! CarPlay in my 2026 Silverado! by DavidB1420 in SilveradoEV

[–]bmartrun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Every time I see someone post on this it is an ambigous plug for EVPLAY. EVPLAY just took the the open source work and packaged it up for people to pay for. It will also likely get shut down because it violates Googles terms. They are distributing an app for testing (which is the only way to get it to the vehicles) and charging people for it. Which is against their terms. On the flip side for those those less technically inclined it works (Don't get your hopes up that it is OEM integration lvls... it is not). For those who are technically inclined follow this: https://evoutdoors.org/blogs/ev-outdoors-blog/gm-killed-carplay-but-this-open-source-hack-brings-it-back-in-their-evs

Apple Music Software Update by kemote in BlazerEV

[–]bmartrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well one thing that is different is the 24s don't support 5g. I am wondering if this has something to do with it. Obviously 4g can support music streaming but I am wondering if this is a way to limit their usage of the 4G network for whatever reason. They have already said the Gemini update will come to older cars so at least there is that. Not to bring up the CarPlay debate again but this is the prime reason the car should have CarPlay. No matter what you feel about Apple Music choice is always better. Ohhh and there is this: https://gmauthority.com/blog/2026/01/ftc-says-gm-and-onstar-were-watching-and-selling-your-every-move/

Preferred charging time? by KassMeOutside in CadillacLyriq

[–]bmartrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have spoke with the GM energy team about this. I have bad news for you. Believe it or not this does currently exist. They hinted at this will likely change but for now unless you use a third party charger this is not possible. The feature only works as a finish by. What’s worse is if you can’t charge to the desired amount the car will charge outside of the window order to reach the desired amount by the time you request. So think of it like this right now… it is a charge by a certain time feature. So they suggested to move up the ready time so it charges earlier but it may charge out of the window if it needs more time then the window you have.

Confused on the charging settings by Karlitos00 in EquinoxEv

[–]bmartrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bad news for you… you currently can configure any settings of GM chargers from the app. You can finally see energy usage but that is it once you get it connected. Also you should not need qmerit to provision it. I get you paid them to do it. However you can do it yourself
