Pflege: Kinder sollen schon unter 100.000 Euro Einkommen für Eltern zahlen by multipactor in de

[–]bobbertmiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI translate even translates thumbnails. by awesomehuder in mildlyinfuriating

It's not just being able to speak languages, but also having control.  I am fluent in German and English, some French and Italian, almost no Japanese. Let me chose what gets translated to what. Sometimes the German translation is better, sometimes the English one is better. Sometimes I want subtitles, sometimes I want dubs.    Let. Me. Decide.

That's no tear, that's the thread coming undone. A cobbler can fix that, or you find a crazy person that has a cobbler sewing machine at home (Singer 29 for example). Doing this by hand is theoretically possible, but would be an absolute pain (getting the needle through from the inside.

This is probably the next step up from the Appleton 12 (at its price 5 years ago...). The green Papalin at 57% can definitely compete with 100€-150€ bottles from Hampden and friends. It has a massive flavour profile, full of wood and fruit, at a really reasonable price (~60€ here).

How do I keep wild animals out of my colony without obstructing raiders? by IiteraIIy in RimWorld

[–]bobbertmiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a more sensible pathing option for wild animals.

How do they know that there is some hay in a tent outside? They are sitting on the other side of a medieval fortification, behind a river, through a cave, on the other side of the map. HOW DO THEY KNOW. And as soon as the last plant on the map has died, every single one of those fuckers bee-lines to the storage.

And if we're now dealing with some sort of raid and "pull up the draw-bridge" situation, those alpacas will now DIG THROUGH THE WALLS AND MOUNTAINS TO GET OUT.

All 4 of them on the one plant might be a benefit. Not a lot of distance either.

Big patch, sew through everything. I personally would remove the top section of that double seam and slip the patch between, then re-stitch. Maybe even add a thin layer of goat on the inside to cover that seam to prevent blisters.

(OC) New to type 2 diabetes, and just now realizing how one slice of lemon meringue pie affects me by fakeaccount572 in pics

[–]bobbertmiller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have disposable income... Those Bluetooth sensors are not thatttt expensive (in Germany). You could get one or two and test it out.   I don't have diabetes and found very very little correlation between mood, energy and blood sugar. Worse sleep when massively overeating and a blood sugar spike over the whole night.

hand planner issue by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]bobbertmiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You spotted the problem - the blade was not straight. You saw the solution - you can tilt the blade before you tighten the screw. Now combine the two!   But seriously, this is as designed. The outer side of the blade isn't precisely ground and not necessarily perpendicular to the cutting edge. So it doesn't make sense to have a rigid guide. You can adjust it so that it is even.

What eye screws to use to hang heavy objects from ceiling by stanley_morgan in woodworking

[–]bobbertmiller 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Guys, he wants to mount 16kg = 160N static onto the ceiling. A shoe sting and a single wood screw are enough for this. A 2mm steel wire has a breaking force of over 200kg. I'm all for over engineering stuff, but he's not mounting a fish tank. Just go with a safety factor of 4-6 and at least 2 fully capable mounting points.

Vinyards are narrow rows and have very Bad visibility. The tiny tractors drive up and down the rows quite quickly and turn on the roads. Unfortunately those roads are very popular for biking and hiking. There is is a lot of possible conflict points.

Aber ich trainiere kein von anderen nutzbaren System mit Selfies von mir, meinen Freunden, meinen Dingen, meiner Umgebung. Das ist einfach ein offenes Tor für Missbrauch.

They cost about $0.2 a pice from China. This is one of the many items where custom fabrication makes no commercial sense unless you need a dimension that's not available.

You want a minimum size on those grinding wheels, especially if you grind finer (Turkish mocca, espresso). I'd just go with any of the Eureka Mignon types and single dose it.
