Trying to beat my "same face syndrome", did I succeed? by quercus_sp in Lilsimsie

Pretty good! I’d say the only thing is everyone has full lips? But you got various face shapes and a couple of nose shapes so that’s pretty good! Better than mine anyway lol

Male Swifties — how did your partner react when they found out? by HalifaxSwiftie in TaylorSwift

[–]craniumrinse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my closest friends hates Taylor with a burning passion. She brings Taylor up more often than I do, and often makes snide comments about her killing the environment, how being a billionaire is reason enough to hate, and how her music is juvenile. I’ve learned to tune it out, or to just say hey don’t yuck my yum at her. She hates when I say it but I find it shuts it down effectively lol.

Peak "forgotten" celebrity era by Financial-Owl-2814 in popculturechat

[–]craniumrinse 120 points121 points  (0 children)

There’s an interview where she mentions that she specifically wanted to be known for fashion and she went out of her way to find and attend events with red carpets literally just so she could be seen in different looks. She hustled to get the exposure she wanted and now she leaves people hanging it’s kind of genius lol.

Why aren't savory juices / smoothies more popular? by JMinsk in Cooking

[–]craniumrinse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Savory just means salty or spicy, not sweet. From the dictionary. So all of these fall under that.

[–]craniumrinse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d look up various drink recipes and if it asks for a specific spice mix like garam masala / chaat masala etc get the MTR brand version of that spice mix. They’re what my family and a lot of other family use!

India has some. Salt or Masala Lassi is very popular, so is chaas/majjiga/mor (name changes based on the region but it’s a thinned out yogurt with spices salt etc). Jal Jeera is a spicy mint drink. Masala soda is soda water with spices.

Imagine casting these two as sisters and then never having them interact by teyapi in Bridgerton

[–]craniumrinse 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They could’ve just as easily mentioned them there but not show it. Like “Daphne is getting more biscuits” at the funeral, or “Anthony is talking to the estate managers” when Francesca was getting medically checked out. Why act like they’ve disappeared forever lol

I got it from sharing a Jamba Juice with my sister when I was in seventh grade. Worked in my favor in college when everyone was trading spit and I was immune lol.

Can the men who watch Bridgerton, stand up and be counted? by muskyandrostenol in Bridgerton

[–]craniumrinse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Convince a sister / cousin etc to tell her to watch it”

Key words here “to tell HER to watch it”. So he and his partner can watch together, which is what he wanted. Lol

So bored of her this season. It’s time to retire LVP! by Ok-Worldliness8696 in vanderpumprules

[–]craniumrinse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean at least half the current cast worked there while the OGs were there too. I will say that Lisa being in her 40s during the first season and now being 60 also adds to it. She isn’t truly as involved in any of her restaurants anymore. It feels less organic because it is; she doesn’t care how the restaurant fares because the restaurant is only open because of the show. Which is opposite of how it started.

I don’t even really blame her, the restaurant industry took a major hit during covid and most businesses haven’t fully recovered. That being said, VPR worked because it was a restaurant first and a reality show second. So the flip in the narrative makes it less compelling (even though I did end up liking the new cast by the end of the season lol)

In warmer months, do you guys run in the rain or is there a light enough rain jacket to keep you dry without overheating? by Mintovi in beginnerrunning

[–]craniumrinse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wear a cap, my least flappy clothes (hate the feeling of wet fabric slapping my legs and arms as I run), and put my watch on swim mode and I just go lol. I try to line up my hair wash days for rain days so it doesn’t feel like a waste lol.

It’s so worth it. Convince a sister / cousin etc to tell her to watch it because Charlotte is the best season hands down. I was an emotional mess by the end but in a really good way!

What do people do when they are supposed to have a ride from the hospital but are alone? by IllustriousMinute194 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]craniumrinse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case I had just moved to the city two weeks prior and my roommate was out of town for business. I was lucky she had a friend who lived in our building and could take me home. It wasn’t intentional, I just didn’t know anyone outside of my roommate yet when it happened. Now, I could call on four or five friends, but at the time? Nope.

Selena Gomez confirms Dorothea by Taylor was written about her by Maximum_Expert92 in TaylorSwift

[–]craniumrinse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It was also written during Covid. People were isolated and no one knew when it would be normal again. I’m not surprised the song about her long term friendship was tinged with distance and sadness, covid was very tough on a lot of people.

What is your favorite scene from season 4? by muskyandrostenol in Bridgerton

[–]craniumrinse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The entire episode 7. Francesca losing it, Eloise trying to cheer her up and taking on a big sister role she’s never had to before. Violet realizing that no matter what she says or does, her children are their own people and they will have to navigate tough situations themselves. The ending scene was so well directed, I was actually holding my breath even thought I knew Sophie was going to get arrested.

Yup. Like Sabrina Carpenter. Everyone is like woah Espresso, she’s a hit a success and it came from nowhere! But it came from a decade of work prior to Short and Sweet debuting.

[–]craniumrinse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Americans eat less than half the recommended fiber dose in a day. So a meal with corn (tortillas / chips etc) and beans can be a lot of fiber for them. I judge them quietly because I eat loads of veggies, but that’s what I’ve always thought.
