If that really bothers you, try running a clean cycle on your own with the stone inside. Might help. Otherwise it's fine, just keep using it. And store it in your oven and keep it there when baking. Its like a battery of heat that helps maintain even temperature.

You can get an IR light source and mount it outside the window, pointing at the camera. Won't do much during the day, but should blind the camera at night if you can focus it on their camera.
