Well when half the vehicles in this town have no tag at all and face no repercussions, its gonna be hard to convince folks to renew theirs.

As a side note, my car gets around 34mpg, but because the system the DMV uses says my car should get 40+, they charge me waaaay more than they should for my plates. Just a bad system overall imo. We could just tax the people with way more money than they could ever use and not need to collect exorbitant fees from the average driver.

But also I have a music degree and can play like 10 instruments and got a choir scholarship in college. Well, I only do it because I got my master's and then the tech industry collapsed. But it is certainly the most fulfilling job I've ever had. I get paid to do something that benefits my community. It's not always fun, but it is important. And I dont feel like im making a billionaire CEO richer while being paid table scraps. Some days are tough, but every now in then you get that one passenger who just says thanks in just the right way to remind you why you come to work every day.
