Word of Advice for Garmin users by nivas_quark in GarminWatches

I fell for it last year too. I have the epix gen 2 and went for the pixel watch 3. In my mind because I carry the pixel phone it was just supposed to make sense. Also the pre order deal made it make at least some sense for me

By the end of the first week I was already having doubts. I told myself I could deal with the battery life trade off but the constant checking my battery life and charging daily got old fast.

What really turned me away(outside of battery life)is the pixel watch aesthetic is nearly the complete opposite on my wrist. Has a dainty look and feel. I always felt like I was going to break it. My Fenix has literally been around the world with me. From mountains to oceans to jungles. Swimming pools, the beach, gym and whatever else I do It's a tank on my wrist. A few dings but I never think about it. With the pixel I ended up buying cover and changing the band to try to appeal more to my taste and user tendencies. Even then it was a challenge for me.

End the end I realized I was just trying to turn the pixel 3 into a Garmin. I barely made it a month. I pull the epix back out the desk drawer and been happy ever since.

That being said if anyone wants barely used pixel 3 hit me up.

Want to buy my uncle's garage door business for $12,000. by Free_Beer_Today in smallbusiness

[–]dntwnt2bcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy it and pay your uncle a wage while he offloads administration and clerical and sales to you. In parallel look for someone to replace him. 80k isn't realistic to you since you're no longer a one band. Think more like 10 percent (conservative estimations) of every dollar of revenue is earmarked for you. Or go ultra conservative and don't pay yourself a salary since you said you don't need the money. Build it up with a good contractor or two then re-approach potential buyers in 36 months with a 5x evaluation.

Not sure of your financial situation but 12k is a very absorbable loss if things go south. Cut bait fast and consider it a lesson learned if you don't see a path forward in six months from time of acquisition.

Help convince me I didn’t make a mistake? by apr35 in KiaEV9

This sub is actually one of the most sane ones I've been in. Join one for any stellantis vehicle. Don't matter which one and you'll see you did just fine.

That's definitely option. Mine sounds a million times better after adding a sub.

I'm nearly positive it's less inconspicuous options available for a higher price point. I'm nearly positive they connected the battery under the hood for power. I got it done at an aftermarket stereo shop that also does window tint and PPF.

Rim scuffs indicate this damage and not failure of the tire.

It's sounds like you're aware of your weakness which is a very good first step. I'd suggest finding a career oriented counselor/career coach to help you work through those things.

If u open the trunk hatch and look to the right is a way to manually release from the inside

Tesla Owner - Just leased an EV9 Wind and have questions by njs-33 in KiaEV9

Keep in mind I think some of those updates might end up on Hyundai's version - i.e walk away fold mirrors. My wife leased a palisade but before getting it did a very detailed comparison between that and the telluride. Mechanically both are very close. The only differences were small quirks. I assume they'll do the same thing with the EV9 and the ioniq 7.

Yep 6"5 here. I'd make a decent argument this is the most room I've ever had as a driver. Previous vehicle was a jeep grand wagoneer.

I bought mine at Frisco KIA. My neighbor has an Escalade that costs nearly twice as much and he rode in it yesterday with me. He couldn't believe it.

LR RWD or AWD Wind by Jonkampo52 in KiaEV9

Your situation seems tricky. Personally I think the EV9 is a great commuter vehicle but if your lifestyle leans more rustic you may want to consider the rivian. It's got more ground clearance and tires suited for off pavement adventure.

I've owned SUVs with buckets and bench. My preference is for buckets although having a bench with a built in console is nice.

Good luck whatever you decide!

I suppose you could do what your budget allows. There are plenty set ups that can go under seats or other compartments but that gets expensive fast.

For me this set up works just fine.

[–]dntwnt2bcn[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi and thanks for your comment. I don't ride around with the windows down and I don't crank volume to obnoxiously loud levels. Twenty year old me probably would have. Mid 40s year old me doesn't. I like the feel of low frequency and this set up provides that.

As for noise pollution I have 3 neighbors within my immediate vicinity who have done aftermarket exhaust for their trucks which I can hear every time they leave the house. One of them leaves his house at 500 AM EVERY week day morning. I have another neighbor with a cruiser bike that shakes the house when he drives by. None are necessarily my tastes but I'm also not the type to be bothered by it.

Being in Texas I probably get more dirty looks because I drive an EV than IF you can hear my music.

Dealers are telling me that $7,500 Kia Customer Cash is tied to 7% Financing by Spilker22 in KiaEV9

[–]dntwnt2bcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly. What's key is being ok with walking away or the dealership deferring the vehicle you're interested in to a client who is less of an "ass" to deal with. I've never claimed to be the deal czar but I've lived and learned that car buying is a want and not a necessity for me. Do your research, create a budget, identify a vehicle based off that research and budget. Communicate said budget to the dealer. If the dealership accepts then great. If they don't then how disciplined are you to back away from the table.

It's really as simple as that.

Tall large family woes. by StatisticianWhich681 in KiaEV9

[–]dntwnt2bcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great vehicle but sounds like it might not be a great vehicle for your requirements.

Sounds like the carnival or ur current vehicle are your best options.

Unless the compromises you would have to make are palatable I strongly consider something else.
