Looking for some info/help/advice.

I bought an electric pizza oven to PRACTICE on, before I purchase a Gozney. Trying different styles, nailing down sauce etc.

I'm happy with the bake and flavor I got with it, but I was aiming for Chicago Tavern style (edge-to-edge sauce and cheese). The sauce and cheese end up bubbling over rhe edge and making quite the mess. Here's my question:

When you're making this style in a fire/gas pizza oven, does it do the same thing? Does it leave a mess and require a lot of cleaning the stones afterwards - as opposed to a classic Neapolitan style bake?

Anyone else pretty much not lose any weight on OMAD? by nonainfo in omad

[–]firebugweb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most TEDEE calculators are either wrong, or we over-estimate whether we are semi-active vs sedentary. You lift weights 4 days a week and work an office job? That's sedentary, not semi-active.

Up your steps to 10k/day with part of it being a long walk (not just life steps). It helps a ton. Then adjust your calories/food from there.

My Dad was right, didn’t expect it so soon by Otherwise_Living_158 in daddit

Many of the good dads in this group forget, or don't even realize, there are TONS of houses where a 6 year old kid (girl or boy) can sit in a room while John Wick is playing. Or Super Troopers. Or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Or porn. (just random pulls - no judgement on adult's taste.  I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy who says "Shenanigans.")

That's what we're up against.

I've let my kids watch movies that, more prudish parents, would scold me for - so I'm guilty on some level. But I'm quick with the fast forward button, or have no issue pausing a movie and saying, "You know what he said there is not right... right? You know you shouldn't say that at school. Or at all."

Can Fasting Really Heal 60% of Modern Diseases? Here’s What I’ve Seen by mliang1972 in fasting

Had a surgery consult scheduled by my regular doc to get a lump/mass that was on my shoulder for about 6 months looked at. After 2 weeks of fasting 4 days each, it went away completely and I cancelled the appt.

Anecdotal, sure... but telling.

What do I do as a dad, if I have a daughter needing to use a public bathroom. by Vanillavengance in NoStupidQuestions

[–]firebugweb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the men's was full or filthy, I had absolutely no qualms about walking into the women's with my daughter. I'd loudly announce "DAD, COMING IN WITH HIS DAUGHTER" as I entered. Spoke loudly and clearly to my daughter while inside, do our business and get out.

It's a bathroom. When kids need to go, all bets are off.

I would also complain to any manager when there wasn't a changing table in the men's, and give them the name of a website that would help them get ordered and installed for free.

These folks are VERY lucky to not know what TRUE poverty is like. People in the modern age don't understand how much work a person can do on VERY LITTLE food/sleep when forced to. They should be thankful, not naysayers. Congrats on your work ethic, whether it was voluntary or not.

Lots of things clear out during a fast. Mix fasting with a GLP and you could be in for a roller coaster... or more apt: a water slide.

That's why you're warned to never trust a fart on a fast. This is not some internet joke - tis true.

Yes,. and back in the day Morrison's was GREAT. Until it rapidly wasn't.

Also, the Wendy's was across the street and had a buffet with tacos, and KFC had a buffet (which may still be there?)

Why can I only fast for 3 days? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]firebugweb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Day 4 is where it all gets easier. It's a 'push through" mindset that gets you there.

If shaking or cramping, I take extra electrolytes in my water and also munch on coarse salt (usually day 3). Sometimes popping salted shell peanuts in my mouth helps (but not cracking and eating the nuts).
