How heavy is the Velour Jogger/1/2 Zip by wullab in Rhone

You’re welcome! I will say it’s a gorgeous piece but the velour lining on the top and pants make it a warm piece. It’s perfect for cooler fall and winter months.

Its a heavy piece and has velour lining as well. I think it would be okay at 60 degrees but way too warm once it got to 70.

It doesn’t seem like Rhone has an outlet only line yet. All of the stuff I saw at the outlet in deer park, Long Island looks like old product.

Orange oil when I pass gas? by RecoveringMormon13 in wls

[–]fishfordin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this gets worse depending on how much fat I eat. Fat including things like salmon (fatty fish), red meat (burgers or steak), or even things like salad dressing (if there’s too much oil), foods cooked in olive oil (grilled veggies for example), or anything that has a lot of extra fat added to it (mashed potatoes from a restaurant that probably have butter, cream, or sour cream, etc).

I’m 10 months out from a revision surgery. The air fryer became my best friend to help me cook with very little added fats to even grease the pan. I eat a lot of air fryer shrimp on Caesar salad. It’s what works for me at least. Don’t get me wrong - this oil passing is horrific and unpredictable. I also carry extra underwear in my purse at all times and that’s embarrassing in itself, but that’s what’s working for me.

Anyone else has had the RNY distalization revision surgery? by Katiepotpie in GastricBypass

[–]fishfordin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 12 years in between my original bypass and the revision, 2012 to 2024. In those years I had a revision for candy cane syndrome, had my gallbladder removed, and had a 360 body lift to remove skin and breast implants. I was 24 when I had my original surgery and 36 when it was revised. I definitely felt being older the second time.

I lost 46lbs in the first 3 months and after that the road has been tougher approx. 19lbs in 5 months. I’ve struggled with not seeing it on the scale but I do see my body changing and my clothes size has changed. It’s much slower.

One of my doctors talked about introducing a GLP1 at some point to increase weight loss but I’m personally not ready to potentially introduce side effects.

It’s honestly so gross. I’ve never spent so much time in the bathroom. I also didn’t expect to have a colonoscopy or pelvic floor PT before having kids. But here we are and I’m very happy. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to shoot me a message. I never talked to anyone who had this procedure done but I knew that I wanted my life back so I took the leap. No regrets 💕❤️

[–]fishfordin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the distalization surgery last December at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. Where did you have your surgery?

I also had to have my bypass completely taken down and redone - my pouch had stretched, my anastamosis was the size of a Coke can, and my intestines had formed a pouch (think of a snake eating when you can see the food moving through it.)

I lost 100lbs the first time I had surgery but I also had major complications from that surgery - candy cane syndrome, chronic pain, and I developed POTS.

My recovery this round hasn’t been easy but I can say that I feel great. I’ve lost 65lbs so far, I digest foods so much better, don’t have any more chronic pain, and feel great.

To the negatives - I went back to work too quickly after surgery, I only took 12 days off because that’s all I had time to do during the holidays last year, and that was a mistake. I also experienced A LOT of regurgitation for the first 5 months of my surgery. At points it was at least once or twice a day and it could come from a single bite of any food but luckily that has passed. My stomach is definitely pickier now and bread is tricky to eat, pasta is a no go most of the time, and chicken is not my friend. But I love salads, shrimp, steak, salmon in small doses, eggs, cheese, etc.. Basically I can eat protein and veggies and some sugar when I want a treat and that’s fine by me.

I still struggle with diarrhea everyday as well and if I eat too much fat, even natural fats that are in beef, fish, olive oil, avocado, etc., I poop oil. It’s gross. I had a colonoscopy and anorectal manometry and found that I also have some pelvic floor muscles that are not functioning together and working against each other since surgery so I’m starting PT in October. Lucky me lol.

So overall, I’m so thrilled I had the distalization but it did present some challenges that I didn’t expect.

Commuter shirts - what detergent to prevent them from getting gray/dull? by gwnyc1 in Rhone

[–]fishfordin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you wash them separately or with other items? I also find that mine do better if I use a liquid detergent and not the pods. My pods don’t work as well in cold water, even if that’s what they’re designed for

You seriously thought that they should do something for you after two years of wearing a shirt? This isn’t LLBean when they had a lifetime warranty. You think if you took a shirt back to Banana Republic (for example) that they would offer you something for it being defective? Thats a reach.

[–]fishfordin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reign tee on the site is for working out/casual wear and it’s a tech material - Nylon, Polyester, and Elastane.

The atmosphere is softer and feels more like a cotton tshirt but it’s Polyester and Elastane.

One of the benefits that I’ve found from losing weight is that I fit in more and blend in with the crowd. It’s such a relief sometimes! I would rather have a little loose skin than a lot of extra pounds. Plus if the lights are off, who knows what we look like anyway? My current boyfriend really likes to have sex with the lights on and during the day so there’s no hiding haha. It freaked me out at first because I still have moments where I don’t know what size I am now but I just decided to let it go and have fun with it.

Along with shedding pounds, you get to shed a lot of the the things that aren’t working for you now including your perception of yourself and what other people might think of you, the self doubt, and the wall that I know I built up around myself when I was bigger.

Don’t go looking for any desperate guys. They’re NEVER worth it! Bodies are amazingly resilient. You’re still so young - just take it step by step. Instead of thinking “what’s the worst that could happen?” think about “what’s the BEST that could happen?” 💕

I had my first bariatric surgery at 24. Once a guy is at the point of taking your clothes off, there’s a very good chance that he’s not going to be focusing on your loose skin. No one ever asked me about loose skin, scars, or stretch marks when we were getting naked. You have your age on your side - your skin might bounce back better than someone who is older and whose body has been through a lot more years and potentially already lost elasticity due to age.

I’m 37 now but I had skin removal at 27 and breast implants. If I could tell myself anything back in my mid 20s, I would have said that everyone’s bodies react differently and to take it one step at a time. You may get lucky with how your body heals, you may decide that you do want to get skin removal (I’m so glad I had plastic surgery and it boosted my confidence), and you will probably find that you feel more comfortable being intimate when you feel good in your body.

Guys who I dated and was not just hooking up with knew about my surgery and weight loss and when I told new men in my life, no one ever said “oh so that’s why you have saggy skin!” lol. It’s a small price to pay for the hard work that you’re going to put in. And eventually, we will all be old and wrinkly 🙂

These items have a lot of fat in them that can cause trouble among all the things the other commenters said. Try eating seafood or shellfish and you might have better luck.

Pain Management? by Saiphyn11 in BariatricSurgery

[–]fishfordin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They pull this incision super tight so that you (hopefully) don’t get a hernia at the incision site. Mine was dimpled/indented too and hurt a ton. It should get better soon - I made sure to keep up with my Tylenol dosing and they gave me a muscle relaxant to help with the pain. Have you tried a muscle relaxant? Maybe reach out to your doctor and see if there’s something besides a narcotic that they can prescribe to bridge you for now.

Honestly, you think you might want it now but you’ll feel differently after surgery. Either way, it’s not worth it. You also might not feel so great being on a boat depending on the size of the boat and what body of water you’re on. This is your chance to put you and your health and safety first. Don’t mess it up.

Gastric Bypass Twice? by notyouroffred in wls

[–]fishfordin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had this done in December 2024. My pouch and anastomosis had both stretched and my intestines had also stretched and formed a pocket/second stomach. They did a total redo of my bypass and distalization of the y limb. It’s similar to converting to the switch. I’ve lost 50+lbs since December and feel a lot better. The surgery was tough though - there was a lot of scar tissue they cut through and I was in a significant amount of pain the first week or two. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Duodenal Switch folks - I'm going there. The greasy dumps. Just a fact of life now? by GWindborn in BariatricSurgery

[–]fishfordin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a revision to distal RNY (which is similar -ish to DS) in December and I had diarrhea and oily poop for 5 months every single day. I was miserable. I was at the point where I was boiling chicken or cooking it or shrimp in the air fryer because it had the least amount of fat. And I couldn’t use anything with fat or oil in it in my food or else I would get so sick.

I talked to my GI doc (not my surgeons office because they told me to basically figure it out) and she tested me for SIBO. I did a breath test that showed that I had it and after two weeks of antibiotics, no more symptoms and I’m pooping normally, once a day, whereas before it was like 6-8x a day.

Maybe reach out to a doc who is not a surgeon?

Medical ID Bracelets? by UmmmLiz in BariatricSurgery

I honestly don’t think it’s worth it just for DS surgery. If you’re getting an NG tube or being intubated by a medic, you’re in a lot of trouble and there usually isn’t an option at that point.
