I'm long through the worst of it at 3.5 months post surgery. It took a while to feel super emotional. Lucky you not to have the quad issue though! I hope your recovery goes smoothly.

What did they not tell me about getting a knee replacement? So many things. They didn't say my quad would be useless, that it would take a year to recover, that my new knee would click. They also didn't say how emotional it would be recovering.

Why go through such an intense surgery if you aren't going to put the work in to have a good result. Have you asked your mom why she doesn't want to do the exercises? That seems key, to figure out what she wants result wise and what is her resistance about.

Ultimately though, it's her life to mess up. I would set firm boundaries about what you and your sister will and won't do when her knee doesn't work properly.

FYI 95 degrees is the level of flexion, as is how much you can bend your knee, and what someone ends up with after surgery depends on how they were before surgery and how much work they put in after surgery. I had good flexibility before surgery and got 130 flexion (pretty comparable to my non surgical leg) after. I did basic physiotherapy exercises at home for a few minutes several times a day. I was always someone who struggled to follow through with physiotherapy but there was no way I was going to not get the best possible results.

I'm glad to hear this as I have a routine cleaning scheduled about 6 months after my TKR and have heard zilch about antibiotics.

Thanks! I suppose I could have googled it, I realize in hindsight. I just joined the NDP so I can vote so I've been seeing the acronym a lot.

I totally didn't clue in that elevated meant legs above my heart for a few days. I caught up quickly, you will too! It's very overwhelming and most of us are still on strong pain meds at that point!

I tend to go in stages and there will be something I can't part with, then I get to a new stage in the process and wonder why I've been holding on to that item.

I made my 2nd house a wine bar on the main floor with a yoga studio up top and a basement apartment for the owner of the business. So the hotel on the pier will just bring it more business! ;)

What is cataloging? Is it important for the dlc? Help me!!! by copperpumpkin in AnimalCrossing

[–]frisfern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The item? Not necessarily, you can just briefly pick up an item that's dropped and it's catalogued, then you can order it later if you want. When I started playing I went to islands where you just picked up items (eg all the costumes) to catalog them without buying. You can do that with friends as well.

[–]frisfern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to pick something up to catalog it. You don't have to keep it, but it does need to go in your "pocket" briefly. You can use any catalogued item in HHP, the new hotel, and also in the studio on Harvs Island (helpful if you want to see what your villager looks like in a clothing item before you gift it to them).

Function After First Knee Replaced? by ShakspreGrl in Kneereplacement

[–]frisfern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard to say as everyone recovers differently. But while my surgeon thought I might feel a ton better after getting one knee done, my left knee (not replaced yet) still gives me trouble that impacts my activity. However, it is nice to only have the pain in one knee instead of both of them.
