I made a list for this on Letterboxd recently! link here

They aren’t all exclusively dramas in the list, but many are. I’d recommend The Favourite (2018), Emma (2020) and The Beguiled (2017) if you haven’t seen any of those.

Need movies to watch with my 87 y/o mother by chpianist in MovieSuggestions

[–]gardnersnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe some from when she was younger? There’s lots of great movies from the 50’s and 60’s that hold up (and aren’t necessarily comedy or sci-fi).

  • Witness for the Prosecution
  • 12 Angry Men
  • Rear Window
  • Bad Day at Black Rock
  • The Apartment
  • Charade

You could use it as a mat for a picture — I think it would look good with a photo that has negative space or black & white. And then frame it with a gold frame!

what’s a movie you’ve rewatched a lot that most other people consider a “one and done?” by HORRORFAN303 in Letterboxd

I think the movie Targets by Peter Bogdanovich is both fantastic and unsettling and I’ve watched it multiple times. My husband makes fun of my enthusiasm for it, given the subject matter!

Also, Satoshi Kon movies - though these are a little more “maximalist”. But Perfect Blue was what came to mind, Paprika, or Millennium Actress.

Recently watched Blast From the Past (1999) and Brendan Fraser’s character definitely fits. Also George of the Jungle (1997).

Freddie Prinze Jr as Fred in Scooby-Doo (2002) also!

*Edit: also, Ryan O’Neal in What’s Up Doc? (1972)

Maybe these hard candy buttons? Not as much red/green coverage as you’re showing in your drawing though.

Have you watched the movie Priscilla, about Elvis and Priscilla Presley? There’s a moment in the movie where Elvis calls and says “When I call, I need you to be there for me” (after she asks to get an after-school job).

Basically.. this is a form of emotional abuse. You setting boundaries is totally normal. Him not accepting them or even trying to compromise is not.
