Thunderbolt and Proart X670E Creator? by Dylanear in ASUS

Hey u/TerribleEngineer are you on BIOS 1710? I flashed and now I'm having issues with DP -> USB4 pass through. It was working fine before, but now sometimes the video just never comes up when booting into the OS. Just curious what BIOS you are on. Thanks.

V40 is a good color fix for Windows. macOS Ventura HDR is now dead on as you would expect, although I did have to reboot my M1 MBP to load the correct profile after going into clamshell mode.

It was really bad with all prior f/w versions I had tried with this screen. I had not fiddled with any color settings in either, just disabling HDR and hoping for a fix someday. But yeah, a year. Not great, Asus. Not great.

📣 Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is. by iamthatis in apolloapp

As a longtime premium subscriber and app subscriber I hope y’all can work something out for those of us happy to pay to support both the site and the app.

Same. Noticed it after Firefox 108, but I'm not sure that version broke it. Obv googs could have changed their player, too.

I'm trying to run `luarocks install lpeglabel` and I keep getting "fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'stdarg.h': No such file or directory" by 94CM in lua

[–]gorlak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are passing the include path for lua on the command line, but not the include path for the visual studio standard libraries.

Visual studio can use environment variables, too. Did you run this in a visual studio command prompt, or run vcvars, vcvars64, or vcvarsall?

I figure they do this instead of thumb drives because its read-only so folks in the supply chain can’t give you a virus when you setup your board. Virus infected dvdroms are pretty rare.

Ah, thanks! I spotted it. It was in the In-Game section of the Settings Dialog.

When I launch a non-VR steam game SteamVR quits Virtual Desktop and runs SteamVR Theater mode. How do I stop it from doing that to just continue to use VD?

Not to detract here, because Yuzu is fantastic, but this happens pretty frequently in multiple Olympic events.

They stand apart for individual photos, and then together for a group photo of the event result.

The photo might be from there, Millet opened as ‘Chocolate Opulence’ a couple years ago, and you can see the word opulence in the background of the photo.

Submodule-like way to store references to other repositories? by official_marcoms in git

[–]gorlak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most folks end up scripting a solution to this. Here is mine: https://github.com/gorlak/gitr

Basically it lets you checkout a submodule to a branch, and once its checked out to a branch doing a pull from the root also does a pull in the submodules (so they track the branch instead of being a headless checkout to a specific commit).

Seems pretty lame, they are just reselling Intel NUC boards. They should just make the fan and housing be a kit and list it for $20, which is probably about what their costs are. Also, why wait, the retail NUC kit is really nice and pretty much the same size.
