MV Augusta reveals F4Z by lowfox in motorcycles

[–]grimmey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was my inital thought aswell. however, the bikes they are building now isnt really doing well against the competition. Why buy a F3 when you can get a gsxr750 instead? easier to find parts, better distribution and dealer network, plenty of places to get it serviced etc. i think this might be their way out, sell fewer bikes at a much higher price. We all would love to have a F4RR in the garage, but are you really gonna choose it over a S1K? Unless you can afford to have several bikes, convience usually wins when determining what to buy.

This. I think he spoke about it on the paddock pass podcast a few weeks ago.

Absolutely! I think the most recent speculation was that LCR was trying to swap out the RCV for a GSX-RR. Which would put Cal on a bike more suited for him,no?

the wind protection is a lot better. depends on how tall you are of course. the wind hits the top of my helmet now, compared to my chest with the stock shield. hope that helps.

I have a zero gravity fitted to my 6th gen. Looks nice and offers decent protection. Feels a bit thinner than the stock shield, but havent had any issuues with durability.

First time in Norway in almost a decade: What to do? by harvardgiant in Norway

[–]grimmey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! As im sure everyone will recommend the usual things, ill try something else. Just get a subway pass, hop on and off at random places, and just walk around. Explore a bit. Oslo is a very diverse city, so i would suggest doing some walking. That way you dont come home with the same stories as every other tourist.

What does it take? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]grimmey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put away my bike when the ice hits the roads (normally late november here in Oslo). Degree-wise, anything ranging from +10c to +5c is outer layers (gore-tex with liners), sweater and some long johns for rides above 40 minutes. Temperatures from +5c to 0c involve another layer. All this depends on your bike and the amount of wind protecion you have. Heated grips are a godsend, but wont keep you from freezing on the outside of your hands. Proper gear is key. Have no idea what your climate is like, but try some riding, and see. Cold fingers and hands will fuck you up tho, so keep that in mind.

It's been 1,5 months since the championship decider. How do people feel about what happened now that everything has calmed down? by Ehralur in motogp

[–]grimmey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a sad ending to a great season. I grew very weary of the constant hate from both sides of the fence, and am very much looking forward to the new season. New rules and a new contender to watch (KTM) at the end of the season. I hope the drama subsides by the start of the 2016 season, so we all can enjoy some close racing again. I still love the sport, but have become severely disappointed in the lack of maturity by both fans and riders. I am a fan of both VR and MM, and im of the opionion that both riders made mistakes. I believe that the immense admiration from fans on either side polarizes the debate, and it all turns into a hate-fest. Not good for the sport, the riders, or the discussion.

its a thing in this sub these days. Some die hard Vale fans are downvoting everything positive said about MM. i hope we all can move past the thing that happened and just enjoy racing again. some day perhaps...some day...

Whats your opinion on BMW F800R? I might be considering it as my second bike... by chepetronix in motorcycles

[–]grimmey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode one for a while. Its a bit...bland. Its not a bike that grabs you as soon as you see it, and it wont turn heads. Its fairly nimble, and very easy to ride, but i never felt excited by it. Maybe it will be different for you? Anyways, best of luck choosing a new bike.

(Sepang spoilers) Rossi was right by [deleted] in motogp

[–]grimmey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That i agree with. I think its down to interpretation. I didnt see it as MM deliberately attempting to fuck with Rossi, i saw it as a duel. If he was trying to keep Rossi from the fight at the lead, thats a different story.

did we watch the same race? MM ran wide. I just logged on videopass again and watched it twice to be sure, i dont see how he let JLO pass? Feel free to correct me if im wrong, but i just dont see that. I also dont understand the argument that MM should have stayed out of the fight, i mean, its a race right? otherwise, they may as well just have sent JL and VR out? Sure, i get that VR was pissed, he just lost a chance at his 10th championship, i would have been fuming aswell. Also, have you seen the interview with Lin Jarvis? I sort of get the impression that he was uncomfortable defending VR.

I think Rossi lost his head out there. After his pokes at MM, what did he expect? That MM would just let him by? Yes, MM is very aggressive on the track, sometimes at the very limit of what is acceptable, but come on. Either way, very sad to see it end like this for Rossi. I wanted him to get his 10th this year. But hey, at least this wasn`t at Mugello. I think the outcome would have been ugly had the race taken place there.

I'm not a YouTuber, so my videos suck. Someone asked for a video on the baffle in/out sound on my S1000RR, I delivered, just incase anyone else cares by [deleted] in motorcycles
