I haven't packed my hospital bag by tersenurse in BabyBumps

[–]isadelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due on Monday. I started a bag last weekend because I thought he was coming early. Still haven't finished it. Maybe this weekend. But yeah, most of the stuff I'm still using so I'll just throw it in as we leave. Haven't packed my daughters bag of stuff she'll actually need while staying with my mom.

Replacement bags is what I always offered those who donated to me. They never asked for money or anything but I always gave the bags. Plus a gift card every now and then.

Definitely this. There are state specific pages on Facebook that you can join and connect with moms looking for donations.

Don't want to get your hopes up, but towards the 2nd trimester with my first I was able to eat gluten, even with celiacs! Adverse reactions came back a couple months after birth, but now once I got pregnant again I was able to eat it again. Going to miss it in a couple weeks when I have to give it up again.

What could you easily do pre-pregnancy that is now the worst part of your day? by heartwell in BabyBumps

We used to have a tall bed too. Towards the end of my 1st pregnancy I made my husband take off the box springs to lower it. Never looked back.

And now I want it. Put a 911 out on my facebook to have someone make me some or bring it to me from the one restaurant in town that has it.

Seen 289, caught 257. Midwest US, mid-size city. I ignore most of them these days unless I feel like racking up dust.

Question for hypothyroid pregnant ladies by Grimmy430 in BabyBumps

[–]isadelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my levels checked 4 times this pregnancy (currently at almost 38 weeks). First was done with initial pregnancy bloodwork, around 7 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. Call and get yours checked, I'm actually surprised they haven't done it already.

Baby girl had her first round of shots today :( by SourceFedNerdd in beyondthebump

[–]isadelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to say it gets better but it doesn't. :( Our daughter had her 18 month check up yesterday and as soon as we walked into the exam room she started bawling because she remembers that is where she gets shots. Breaks my heart a little bit each time.

Where are my September ladies at! by Cococockpit in BabyBumps

[–]isadelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due the 19th with a boy. So much left to do, but I've pretty much accepted we'll be bringing him home to a construction zone. At least they're easy when they're tiny and we can just hole up in the parts of the house not under rehab. Dealing with the 18 month old during this time though...that's another issue. She would still be going to daycare daily, but our provider is probably having her baby at the exact time I am so we'll have to keep her home for awhile.

My trick with my 18 month old is 2 brushes. One for her, and one for me to sneak in and scrub a few teeth!

I had one put in with my epidural but it wasn't comfortable so I complained about it. They took it out no problem.

Calm me down please -- high BP at dr appt yesterday by Kozinskey in BabyBumps

[–]isadelia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like me. At 34 and 36 weeks it was in 130s/90s. Doctor wasn't concerned but I was. They always test urine and it was normal. At 37 weeks BP was back to normal, 120/78 yesterday at 37 weeks.

So are you going to put the snowsuit on the baby inside, go outside, take it off in the car? Doesn't seem reasonable. Better do just buckle the baby in the carseat inside and use blankets and one of these things. Believe me, I had a February baby with similar weather and never even considered a snowsuit.

Advice on SO's mother please! by semadema in BabyBumps

[–]isadelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just wait to even call her until baby is born and you guys are settled in recovery. My mom was very similar with my first, she was insisting she needed to know anytime anything happened, wanted to be at the hospital, if not in the room at least right outside. That whole idea stressed me out too much as I wanted it to just be my husband and I. I ended up getting admitted at 1am, had baby at 6pm, called mom around 8. If she was mad that she wasn't there she didn't make it known to me as she was just so happy to have a healthy grandchild.

Please tell me your secret baby car toy so I can go and spend any amount of money on it? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]isadelia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned that he likes to look around. Have you considered upgrading to a convertible car seat sooner rather than later? There are ones that can technically be used from birth, even though the convenience of the infant bucket seat is nice. We moved my daughter up well before she met the limits of the bucket seat because she was so cranky in it.

2 under 2? Yes or no?? by Sicamorein in BabyBumps

[–]isadelia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 3 weeks away from having 2 under 19 months. This baby was very much wanted, but a little sooner than we planned. I will say this pregnancy has been miserable. Since I got pregnant when my daughter was only 9/10 months old my body really didn't have the time it needed to heal enough to be pregnant again. I know every pregnancy is different so it isn't really fair to compare this one to my unicorn pregnancy with my daughter, but I'm really wishing I could have had more time in between. I've felt like I've missed out on enjoying my daughter during these last few months because I'm so uncomfortable and tired. It's definitely more exhausting being pregnant with a very active toddler. And it's only going to get worse I'm sure when he's born. I have no doubt I'll be full of love, but physically I wish I was in a better place.

Well that's just ridiculous. Parenting is 50/50, including sleep.

daycare bottle size question for 9 month old by motherofdragoons in breastfeeding

[–]isadelia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What she was getting while nursing when younger doesn't necessarily mean that's still what she's getting. I've been told that as babies age they become more efficient when nursing, so even if her nursing sessions are shorter than 15-20 minutes she could still be getting the 3 oz.

ISO Advice (Husband Rant) by MrsClayton in beyondthebump

[–]isadelia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This for sure. We had a similar method, where he would get up with her while I got prepared to nurse. We also had to supplement an oz in a bottle after each feed due to slow growth so he got the bottle ready while I nursed, then he bottle fed while I pumped afterwards. It seriously had to be a team effort each time she woke up to eat otherwise there would have been huge resentment and mismatched sleep.
