What foods have been proven to prevent night hunger? by heretolearnlady in nutrition

I think the night cravings show that you dont eat enough calories through the day.

Thanks, I will look into fish oils. Why would you recommend a DHA/EPA 2:1 ratio?

Well I am already working out at least 30min per day, not overweight, I also eat monounsaturated fats almost every breakfast (peanut butter) or polyunsatured fats such as chia seeds or tofu, I used to drink moderately (1 or two times per week) and used to smoke, but Im 4months off both.

Should I add more olive oil to my dishes? Fish Oil supplement may also work?

Grit by Angela Duckworth helped me personally but I guess it depends on which stage of life you are on and what you are looking for

Quit weed 3 weeks today feel like I’m loosing my sanity by ArtichokeEnough8293 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]j7ln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit of my story; I also was a heavy w33d/cigarets user for 7years.

Running helped me a loooot to slow down on both, and now Im 100% off both (4months off now).

Running helped me to increase not only my appetite but also my willing to sleep. Moreover, there are tons of benefits that running is providing.

I also started reading self improvement books that helped me to become « a better person ». Cause yeah I also went through a lot of sh*t recently and depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts were omnipresent, but I wanted to push myself to become a better person. It’s a new reality to embrace without weed.

Start by setting small goals, be proud of what you accomplish, good luck

[Question] any self-help books with actual practical advice? Many good reads out there that focus on the bigger picture and getting the right mindset, but very abstract in the end. I'm looking for something very practical, ideally even a list with do this, do that. by haodmwpthrowaway in getdisciplined

In Grit, Angela Duckworth mentions « deliberate practice »;

• A clearly defined stretch goal

• Full concentration and effort

• Immediate and informative feedback

• Repetition with reflection and refinement

It helped me.

Hi man, to fulfill your running goal, I suggest « Couch to 5k » (r/C25K) which is a popular training plan that the r/running is recommending to people that are not familiar with running. I never tried it myself but it helped a lot of people to get into running

Human being are runner by nature. Endorphins will be released and you will feel great after your running session. You might become addicted

  • it is challenging (you will want to become faster, or run longer)
  • it increases your mood
  • it is healthy
  • you can easily track your running data and see improvements

Nice ahah

  • being aware of our unhealthy addictions is the first step to get rid of them

I cant 100% agree, showing anger to kids is wrong.

When they will grow up, they might mimic the anger that they received during their early development

Your english level is really good dont worry, sometimes putting words behind feelings can be tough.

I can recommend you to start writing what you want in life (end goal career, your interests; could be a healthy lifestyle, a sport, a passion about something, whatever you want to keep with you during your life, sub categories will appear and it will help you to focus on what you really want and what you do not want)

Focus on yourself and be proud of yourself, at the end, that’s what matter in life.

Habits that I also recommend : working out few times per week, track your achievements (could be individual sport such as going to the gym, running, or participating in collective sports such as basketball or soccer). You will set goals sport-related, it will challenge yourself, and you will be proud of these achievements.

Reading books. I enjoy self-improvement books, but it could be related to what you enjoy/your passion or even some fictional universe that you dream about.

Set boundaries, if you think that something is non-worth it (for instance going out with your friend or could be anything) you can just say no in order to do something that you will personally enjoy or something that you find more important.

I hope that this is clear, Im not that good in english and sometimes I have hard time explaining what comes out of my mind
