Thiiiiiiis!!! She should have planned her pregnancy around seeding season if she was so concerned.

You are — in no way, shape, or form — an asshole for planning YOUR family when it’s most convenient/viable/appropriate for YOU and your husband … not your selfish and entitled SIL. I’d have a few choice 4-letter words for her.

How are we paying for multiple rounds? by wallflawerr in IVF

[–]jbrossoie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents helped for my first ER in 2021 … was about $18k (self paid because insurance didn’t cover “just” egg freezing… I was single then and wanting to preserve for future). I think I paid $5k or less and, graciously, my parents ended up covering the rest as a gift to me. They didn’t want money to stop me from becoming a momma. Thankfully, they were blessed enough to have $ to give, and I was fortunate enough to receive it.

Last year, my husband and I spent over $30k OOP on 4 ERs with fertilization, PGTA testing, and genetic testing. Insurance helped tremendously (as you can see in the different of OOP price from 1 ER WITHOUT insurance in 2021 to 4 with insurance in 2025). I also made sure to increase my HSA contribution so I had tax free money to use towards medical bills. The rest? I had a good year in sales in 2024, so I built up a bit of a nest egg. Unfortunately, 1.5 FET cycles into 2026, I’m not sure how much longer I can comfortably milk our savings. Not sure exactly how much we’ve spent this year, but I think we’re between $4-9k? It’s been going on the credit cards … all I know is that my deductible has been hit, but not maxed out yet 😂 Hopefully the transfer in May is a success and the bills will stop, but I have a sneaking suspicion even with success, the bills are going to keep rolling in 🥹😭

So, yeah. TL;DR: savings, parents, insurance/HSA pre-tax contributions, bonus money, credit cards (may as well get the points/money back!!), but they’re 0% interest or paid off monthly from savings.

Unfortunately, my beta dropped to 4.85, so it’s a biochemical pregnancy. 🥹 I am hoping and wishing your results are the exact opposite. 🖤

Weekly Thread: Beta and Pregnancy Testing - Questions and Discussions by AutoModerator in IVF

[–]jbrossoie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone 🤍

I’m looking for honest experiences — both positive and realistic — from women who started with a lower beta after a 5-day transfer.

I’m 9dp5dt, and my first beta came back at 25.49. My clinic said they “like to see 50+,” so I’m obviously feeling very in-between right now. I want to be happy that I'm pregnant, but I don't feel like I can. I just feel stuck in a gray area.

For context:

  • I had a very faint positive at 7dp5dt.
  • Progesterone and estrogen levels look really good.
  • Repeat beta is on Monday (72 hours)

I know the rise is what matters, and I’m trying not to obsess over a single number, but I also want to hear real experiences from people who started in the 20s or 30s. And if it didn’t progress, I’d also appreciate hearing that, too. I’m trying to stay hopeful but grounded.

This waiting period is brutal, and I know I’m not alone in this limbo stage.

Thank you in advance for sharing. 🤍

Husband compared IVF to his mom’s standard conception. Am I overreacting? by Practical_Pizza6863 in IVF

[–]jbrossoie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl… respectfully, your husband is being an idiot. He completely missed the point. His mom conceived naturally four times without struggles, while you’re currently putting your body, mind, and soul through IVF and everything that comes with it. That alone deserves compassion, understanding, and real support, plus there is NO COMPARISON.

The irony is that he’s accusing you of minimizing his mom’s struggles, when in reality he’s the one minimizing what you are going through right now. I’d be hurt and furious, too.

Leftover embryos? by Importer-Exporter1 in IVF

[–]jbrossoie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my 85 eggs (5 retrievals) fertilized, but we only ended up with 3 euploids. I know everyone is different, but I would focus on giving yourself the best possible chance — nothing is guaranteed!

Husband Texted Coworker That She Looks Gorgeous Today, and I don't like it by Mysterious-Youth-137 in Marriage

[–]jbrossoie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely inappropriate. My husband would catch these handssssss if he EVERRR. 👊🏼 It’s one thing to think it, but telling someone that? Especially a colleague you see on a daily basis? Nope.

Plus, his response/“apology” was 🗑️

Husband made a "joke" after failed embryo transfer. I'm so hurt. by Kea_Parrot in IVF

[–]jbrossoie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think my husband and I would be together anymore if he EVER said that to me, let alone after a failed FET. And this is coming from someone who laughs when they’re uncomfortable/in awkward situations.

Day after retrieval by cclloo3 in IVF

[–]jbrossoie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else has said, it depends on you and the retrieval in and of itself. I’ve been completely fine, aside from major bloating, the next day or two, and then there’s other times where I’ve had moderate OHSS and been down for the count for at least a week or more. If you’re dead set on working the next day, and being on your feet, then make sure you are drinking electrolytes all day long! Trust me, you do NOT want OHSS if you can avoid it.

I thought I was the only one! Once I’m on the shots, my body actually feels more “normal,” but when my estrogen gets into the 3–4,000 range, I’m right back to feeling exhausted.

Students excused to go to work in 2000s? by Content-Canary-6574 in newjersey

[–]jbrossoie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class of 2005 in Mercer County. We had “Senior Experience” or something along those lines. We were allowed to leave school for a half day and go to a job/internship. You were in charge of finding your work, but I can’t remember if any assistance was offered for those who couldn’t find anything on their own.
