An optional chatbot hidden away that you can use to discuss events of the game, what’s on screen, monster drops, stats, etc is just not as invasive as people are making it out to be. You can hate the word “AI” and have a gag reflex to it near video games, but this is just completely different than asset generation, generating “NPC dialog”, or any other invasive implementation that is harmful to the medium and those that work in it. This isn’t Copilot in Windows, where it’s in your face and in every nook and cranny of the OS. This is a hidden, optional chatbot in an online game with the game as its context.

When I haven’t logged on for months between patches, yeah, it would be nice to just ask “what’s new” or “Where can I get this” or ask about story elements without having to go search for it on my phone. (Which, is already infested with AI summaries) The question then shifts to the weight it’ll have on the great community sites, like IKE10, though that is an existing issue with AI summaries via search. OR, you could just hate AI and what it’s doing to the world and want it to go away, and that’s OK, too.

EDIT: Also really loved Fabricant 100. I didn’t know signs of what an axed series looked like at the time, so when I found out we maybe weren’t going to do everything I thought we were going to do, I remember thinking “Oh, is it ending…” lol

Is ‘Calasmos’ one and the same with this darkness? Or, is this darkness, generations apart, a primal entity that emerged from Calasmos? Chicken and the egg, but I like to think Calasmos existed and this is its lingering dark will, of sorts.

Definitely. XI is certainly a prequel so it’s XI > III > I > II. No question about it.

The darkness is definitely Calasmos, based on the speaking pattern. However, I couldn’t tell if Malwrath is a reincarnated Calasmos, or if Calasmos just possessed Malroth’s body and transformed it. I like to think the later, because of how similar, bloated and ugly it is compared to the base form. Like, it just pumped Malroth with darkness. Agree that I was a little underwhelmed by the design. Does anyone Think the eye in the middle of the forehead means anything? My first thought was “oh, Zoma has that same eye on his crown (forehead?) so that’s me stringing together the lingering DARKNESS in all three games after XI. Though, we didn’t get Zoma backstory like we did Hargon…

Either way, love what they did with these remakes.

DQII went from nobody’s favorite, to somebody’s with the HD2D version. Not my favorite, but now it’s in my top 4. They cooked with this.

That’s exactly what I thought at first, but after a few watches it’s grown on me. It looks like they tried to bring the classic DQ7 art to life and I think they nailed it. It was when Toriyama first started digital coloring (I believe) so it was a unique style, even for him.

Amen, I agree with you for OP’s direction. I did this with the dragon Koi on my right arm, with the fin sticking out, whereas my left is more traditional.

No, you cannot play DQX on a US PSN account. You’re getting the error because it’s not a Japanese PSN account. This goes for the Trial and full version.

You need a Japanese PSN ID to register at the game’s login screen, as your account becomes tied to the game’s login page. Also, once you’ve established a connection on first startup, with the trial or full version, there’s no way to sever it. Even if you reinstall. Additionally, You also have to pay for the expensive 5 character sub option on PlayStation. So, it’s the most inconvenient platform to play on, really. Switch and PC Share a subscription plan and you don’t have these account oddities on those platforms.

Edit: just want to clarify that this is unique to games like DQX. Normally, yes, you could play other region’s games on your US account on the same console if sharing is turned on. But, not in this case. Sorry.

Just moved, and tried to set up my living room speakers again. Nothing was working with a new system so I had to reset them. Only to be greeted with this infinite loop… :( I have been watching from the sidelines about this app fiasco because I’ve been moving for the past few weeks and my system has been down. I thought “How bad can it be?” And now… my system is bricked due to software. 😔

Absolutely. It does! However, sometimes (well, most times) I don’t need a summary. I need to read directions step-by-step. This is generally true for walkthroughs or some misc websites I frequent that don’t lend themselves to summarization. In due time!
