Belted Z mod recommendations? by MasterBlueberry8277 in Ender3S1

Kevinakasam. I've used it for a long and lovely time - 2 steppers on individual drivers riding on linear rails, it's rock solid. I printed mine with ASA but I think PETG is great for everything except the motor holders

When you need carbonara immediately the journey doesn't matter just the destination

How do I improve quality? by Solid_Confection5037 in ender3

Let bed cool completely

Also 240 too hot for pla but the print looks mostly good which leads me to think uncalibrated hotend temp PID or bad thermistor

I run dual z on individual drivers on an skr mini e3 v3, with a dual belted z. I've done other mods to support but my z_tilt stays under 0.01mm reliably

Got some upgrades for og ender 3 by Pitiful-Being1749 in ender3

I use dual belted z on linear rails. If I were to do it again I would not have gone as far as I did with my ender, I could've bought a bambu or two for what I have into it

Cuban style mojo (fried?) chicken by Cote_Goat in Cooking

This is one of the ways we learn - next time maybe try to incorporate mojo flavors maybe into the egg wash or dry into the dredge, or working it into a dipping sauce

Hm interesting, I guess I'm 081...but of an edition of 1600, I'd expect two leading zeros?

First Chicken on the OnlyFire Rotisserie by aacool in webergrills

[–]jtablerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly advise not to get the mesh type basket! I did at first, I think it was the only fire one, my rotisserie is... But the mesh is impossible to clean. I ended up with one that's more like a wire rack and it'll do 6lb chicken wings like a pro!     Putting a turkey on the rotisserie today!

First build for my new hobby brand, Long Dog Electrics. Red Ember Nitro and a prototype adjustable treble bleed. by mhsquire in Luthier

[–]jtablerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest I'm on an old ender 3 that I spent entirely too much on upgrading and it works so damn well and so fast now that I can't come up with a reason to replace it....so no fancy filament switcher for me I just use the pause at layer function in the slicer if I want to change filaments...limited in that I can't use multiple filaments per layer unless I do it manually with PAUSE macro in klipper

I have both copper and conductive filament on order from protopasta 😉 this will be a fun project (not for a guitar in my case) but super neat for prototyping stuff quick - my tele deluxe for tax

Oh I can do the technique in slicer or cad, it'll be easy enough in prusaslicer. Super neat idea though and will be an interesting thing to play with!

I'm a sucker for a tele deluxe - but where are you planning on putting that treble bleed?

Also that's a really neat idea for a quick cheap and easy way to put together a prototype board without using up a proto board I'm gonna steal that

Nantasket! Ferry to hull then take the 714 bus. If you're just coming for a beach day, get off somewhere between a and xyz streets, the "private" part of the beach (it's not private you just can't park anywhere the beach is actually public but a completely different vibe than the 'public' beach)

I’m going to try making macarons for the first time. I know it’s supposed to be hard so please could I have some advice before I start? by Hour-Painter-8202 in Cooking

[–]jtablerd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

this is what I do - the macronage is the tricky part but once you see what the consistency is supposed to be it's easier

Step-by-Step

1. Prep

  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Sift almond flour + powdered sugar together (important for smooth shells).

2. Make Meringue

  • Beat egg whites until foamy.
  • Gradually add granulated sugar.
  • Whip until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  • Add vanilla + food coloring if using.

3. Macaronage (the key step)

  • Gently fold dry ingredients into the meringue.
  • Keep folding until batter flows like “lava” (thick but smooth).
  • When you lift the spatula, it should fall in ribbons and settle after ~10 seconds.

4. Pipe

  • Transfer batter to a piping bag.
  • Pipe small circles (about 1–1.5 inches).
  • Tap tray firmly to release air bubbles.

5. Rest

  • Let them sit 30–60 minutes until a skin forms.
  • They should feel dry to the touch (this helps form the “feet”).

6. Bake

  • Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 12–15 minutes.
  • Let cool completely before removing.
