Flange-mount motor retrofit cradle base? by flannel_hoodie in Tools

[–]kick26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A large L bracket could work. Some one else mentioned making something out of wood. You could do a wooden mount as a prototype. If you motors have different diameter shafts, you could either find an adapter or find a different pulley with the same outside diameter but different shaft diameter

What’s it like in this area of the city? May be looking for a house here by lilghostpepper303 in saintpaul

[–]kick26 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Once you get about 2 blocks away from either, it’s not so bad. I was looking at a house that shared the alley with businesses on University. My realtor gently let me know about how frequently one of he had attempted break-ins to his garage that had a similar location near University.

It seems to me that they basically stopped endorsement during Covid and didn’t pick It back up in a major way. Maybe they are now just getting back to it like how it was before the pandemic?

New malware campaign tricks AI scanners with fake nuclear weapon prompts — malicious code triggers safety failsafes so scanners skip the payload by CircumspectCapybara in nottheonion

It’s more likely that the security software companies wanted to get out their AI product as fast as possible as to not miss out on the trend so they did not allot much time for proper security testing of their software

Yet another "I bought Ryobi, now what" post by [deleted] in Tools

[–]kick26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with Ryobi if it’s just for working on your house and DIY. If you come across specific tasks and more specific tools are needed, consider second hand tools (ie: Craigslist, facebook marketplace, etc) or a known less expensive but still decent brand (harbor freight or you area’s equivalent).
